We first visited Stone House Farm twelve years ago, for our tenth anniversary. It was such a nice experience that we chose to return for our twenty-fifth. And, perhaps we shouldn't have. In all fairness, it was a mixed experience. Candy is a passionate gardener, and the grounds of the inn are a beautiful sight to behold. My wife and I spent a pleasurable hour or more wandering the garden paths! The room itself was very nice, and Candy herself is a warm and friendly person. However, there were a few things we could not overlook. Candy serves breakfast personally, in the guest's room, and she had spoken of the eggs from her own chickens. (Those chickens themselves are a sight to behold, BTW.) When we got those same eggs, I found them totally tasteless, even with the addition of cheese. My wife found them inedible, and had to flush them! Still on the subject of breakfast, we were shocked that no juice of any kind was offered. We have been to a whole slew of B&B's over the years, and not a one has failed to offer, not just juice, but usually a choice of juice! And then there's the TV . The room comes with a TV and built-in DVD player, along with a heap of DVD's. We had great difficulty even in turning the TV ON, and then we had the experience of having not one, but two separate DVD's get about two-thirds through, and then inexplicably quit! Clearly, we did not simply stumble at random over two "defective" DVD's; rather, the problem was with the DVD player, and just as clearly this was not a problem that had just sprung...
Read moreWe had a MAGICAL time at the Stone House Farm. My partner and I came to Western Mass to see a bluegrass show and decided to stay at Stone House because of the dazzling reviews. We had never stayed in a BnB before, but the reviews are all true! Whatever you picture a BnB should be, this place will exceed expectations. ||||We stayed in the downstairs room and couldn’t have been happier with how clean, cozy, and comfortable the space was. Pictures don’t do it justice! The room is spacious and decorated so tastefully. You can see the love and intention that Candi and her family have put into the upkeep of the BnB over the years. The bed, pillows, and linens were fantastic, lending us a perfect night’s sleep after a long day. Even in December, the porch was full of gorgeous flowers and christmas cacti in full bloom. The snowy landscape outside is so beautiful and perfect for snuggling up with a hot chocolate. If you like to ski, there are trails right across the street.||||Breakfast was delectable, starting with ripe persimmons and pomegranate, yogurt and granola, to incredible puff pancakes- all served right in the privacy of our room. Candi was so accommodating and is clearly passionate about the farm and making sure guests feel at home. We are so thankful to have had this experience and can’t wait to come back in the Spring to...

My sister and I stayed in the upstairs suite comprising of two comfortable and separate sleeping rooms, with a living room area with table and couch. There's also a fridge with milk and cans of soda, coffee maker, tea and snacks, microwave, dishes, and utensils. ||The owner Candi is very friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. She brought us delicious and artistic looking breakfasts, with eggs from her own chicken coop on site. A major treat of Stone House Farm to savor and spend time in the amazing and large garden Candi has created, with trails and benches everywhere, soothing water areas too.
