Read moreA very well maintained and beautiful campground. We were in NG07 for 5 days first part of October. A wonderful spot with a view of the meadow. Great trails, one day we drove to Ebbetts Pass. So very beautiful if you have time. One thing I couldn't find before arriving was the size of the bear box. We have a 60 qt. Coleman on wheels and it fit with a small amount of space to spare in height. We brought locks but you can tell from the picture they have a latch attached to the box. The box opens from both sides which was great. We had a big problem with yellow jackets in October. Cooking and eating was a challenge. Read moreYellow jackets were bad this year but still were tolerable. They were flying around but they weren't "bite-y". We bought some traps at the hardware store in Arnold which helped. Also, waiting for other campers to start cooking first or leaving a small bit of food just out of our camp about 5 min or so before cooking helped keep them at bay. Sort of "feed the meat bees first" way of dealing with them. We were careful to clean up everything before going to bed and glad we did as we were visited by bears 3 of our 5 nights.
