I stayed in the Raspberry Cottage overlooking the golf course pond sometime ago, not within the last 12 months, but have not returned since because of the poor condition of the property. The timeliness of this review (well after my stay) is due to the fact that I could not identify the property on the TripAdvisor website and was unable to write a review at that time, perhaps because I was entering incorrect information regarding the location. I rented the cottage through Murphy Vacation Rentals, which is the renting agent for a number of the cottages and did complain vehemently to them about the property's condition. They responded by advising me that the cottages are separately owned and therefore do not follow a set maintenance schedule, which makes cottage ownership a real issue. In my case, the owner of my vacation cottage had chosen not to make the necessary upgrades such as cleaning or replacing an absolutely disgusting, dirty, and visibly stained carpet. The bathroom was also carpeted with a shag type carpet leading right to the shower. It was damp and moldy. Elsewhere, the furniture was very worn. The one bedroom suite, advertised as specially priced for overnight stays, are actually the second bedroom of the cottage and was built with a private entrance off of the front porch. Thankfully no one stayed in the second bedroom while we were guests at the cottage because parking would have been very tight with a second car in the small driveway.||||The grounds are beautiful because they belong to the Greenhorn Creek Resort and Golf Course and are constantly maintained. The cottages surround a section of the golf course as well as a large timeshare development on the east side. It appears that many of the cottages are occupied with full time residents.||||Murphy Vacation Rentals is located in the town of Murphy about twenty miles northeast of Angels Camp and there is no personal contact with the rental office. I booked my reservation via telephone and drove directly to the cottage where I found the key in a lock box on the porch. I would recommend the cottages to anyone visiting the area, however the issue becomes "which" cottage has an ownership that cares about the condition of...
Read moreI found the Greenhorn Creek Resort online and booked a one night stay for a very reasonable price. We were going to a concert at Ironstone (only about 10 minutes away) and needed a place to stay. The place that was recommended to us was booked. Thank goodness!||The grounds were gorgeous and we must have gone at the right time of year because nobody was around. We had both pools (immaculate) and the spa all to ourselves. The "cottage" looked like a model home. There is one side that has the kitchen and living room, but we had the "guest suite" side and it was great. No kitchen or living room, but plenty of room, nice high ceilings and everything you could want for a nice night or two...
Read moreRaspberry Cottage was clean, inviting and comfy with a relaxing back deck view on the pond just across from the 9th hold fairway. Only complaints would be no on-site washer/dryer or access to garage for parking or storing 'outdoor gear', and the beds are absolutely Rock Hard, rock hard... it's three days later and my back and hips are still killing me... the floor would have been a better choice, no joke. Outside of that, it's a perfect spot and I would certainly return again (for no more than a 2 night stay)... mostly for concert going at Ironstone, just 10...
