I've been going here for years now and have really always enjoyed it. It's perfect if you want to feel like you've gotten away from the busy everyday. The cabins come in a quite a number of sizes great for single families or a couples get away or a large group. I've done it them all. The property is beautiful and quite. These days it's a bit more pricy but they've upgraded quite a few systems, newer appliances beds, and now you can book online. They even have wifi now.

We stayed in the Log Cabin for a family vacation. Being my third time to Chama, I knew what to expect but the Log Cabin was amazingly furnished; super clean; large cookware for the biggest cabin. I have now introduced Corkins to a new generation who can’t wait to come back. We got to see the waterfall, caught fish, saw turkeys, deer, and an eagle. Evenings spent on the back porch talking were priceless! We’ll be back!!

This was our third visit to Corkin’s Lodge and it was our best time ever. My grandchildren 7, twins 5, and 15 month old had a wonderful time! They swam in the pool, hiked, fished, played on the playground, and in the game room! Corkins is a safe and child friendly piece of Heaven! We bunked in the Bunkhouse Cabin which is so comfortable! We had so much fun and the children can’t wait to go back!

Had problems with the water supply. I called the office for help but no one is in the office after 2000 (or earlier). We did not have any water and we had 6 children to bath/shower and 4 adults.

I had purchased several cases of drinking water while we were shopping.

It was extremely difficult to ‘shower’ the children with the cold bottles of water.

We adults did not enjoy it but we used up the rest of the bottled water to clean ourselves.

The water problems have happened on our last 2 visits, too.

I called the office and left a msg 3 times....asking for a phone call back. NO CALL!!!

We refused to pay the bill until we could talk to the manager. The manager was not on the property....

I finally heard from the manager. She gave an excuse for the problem and offered to take $100 off of the bill. (Our 2 night stay cost was $1000.

I am VERY DISAPPOINTED! We could have been compensated more than the $100.

I sure hope other people planning to go to CORKINS, talk to management and find out if there is a water problem before they book.

I truly believe that CORKINS has OVER EXTENDED themselves by adding more cabins than the property is able to handle.

On a positive note, the pool turned out to be fun and the fishing was great.

We were very impressed with the sleeping arrangements AND the kitchen was fantastic. Lots of counter space, great refrigerator (s), coffee pot with filters, microwave and a fantastic stove.

I really want to go back next year but do NOT want to have my trip spoiled because of problems...

After hearing about Corkins for a few years, I decided to take the family down this past week to check it out. We stayed in the bunkhouse cabin, which was lovely and well-appointed. The grounds were very nice too and cabins were well spaced.

However, the reason for lower rating is that the lodge is quite expensive and for that price, we did not expect most amenities would be closed. The outdoor heated pool was closed, this could be expected since it was mid-October. However, the game room was also closed for our stay. This is a mystery to me because it really would not take much for it to remain open. The lodge also advertises a fishing pond, that was completely overtaken by moss/sludge on the top which rendered it unfishable.

Another disappointing aspect to our stay was that the office was completely closed for our entire visit. Staff were available by texting, but that seemed a little annoying considering the price and high reviews of the property. We had a knock on our door late one night and some folks in the neighboring cabin were locked out of their unit. It was hard to get confirmation via texting that help was on the way for them. When you call the number on the website, it seems like you are directed to an overseas call center, which is of little help.

Again, we loved the cabin and the location, but left feeling the whole experience was a bit overpriced at...

We stayed the Juniper cabin at Corkins Lodge and it was an amazing mix of rustic charm with modern appliances and great lodge decorations! Our view out our window was beautiful and we saw several deer stroll by each evening! We loved the swimming pool with gorgeous views of the cliffs! We also played outdoor games like bocce ball and horseshoes along with enjoying their game room and a rousing game of Ping Ping. Our host even had board games to take to our cabin on the one afternoon it rained. We loved the nearby fishing lake and mountain trails. One trail ended at the river and a treehouse with two comfy chairs with a spectacular view! If you enjoy peace, nature, and getting away from the hustle and bustle, this is an amazing place to stay! Only drawback was it was a little warm during the day in our cabin so we lounged...
