Arrived around 10pm followed GPS with the address listed it was right on. The road this is located on is a 55mph highway and if you miss it would be hard to find a spot to turn around. The sign was easy to see but could use a light. The campground is very dark at night so I just picked the easiest spot. I have been in florida for over a year now and wow I forgot that there were stars in the sky. Without all the lights the sky just lights up and that is what was great about little light. Checked in the next day found out I was in the rv resort not the campground which is 800ft past the resort. The resort gets you gravel and paver sites and close to the pool and bath house which is the nicest I have ever seen. The pool at its deepest is 4.5ft very nice area. The clubhouse was nice full kitchen and a few tvs to relax. My guess is if the park was busy this would probably be grabbed up early would be great if you have a big family with a few campers. The bathrooms are absolutely stunning and they have 2 family shower rooms. All could use more hooks and the family one needs a shelf to put your soap on. The soap was so watered down you need to bring your own. Every site has a nice view of the water separated by a highway. The pier is great for watching the sunrise, sunset, fishing, or putting in a kayak. The office staff was very friendly. By the way the closest diesel is 3 miles west of the campground. The sites are designed well for easy in and out. Nice gravel with big paver patios and a picnic table. Some also have a charcoal grill. Lights to help you plug in at night except mine was unplugged. All have 2 sewer dump openings for easy hook up no matter how you position. Which is all situated in a nice green grassy area. It also has sprinklers in it that come on around 6am. Caught me off guard as I was drinking my coffee outside and letting the dogs out. Also watch what you leave outside cause it will probably get wet. Overall very impressed and will definitely stay here again. I just hope the inconsiderate campers don't tear it up. My site had cigarette buts all over the bathroom had soap all over the sink and someone used the bench on the pier to clean their fish then left the bucket of scrap fish on the dock. Nothing to do with the campground or staff. Just disrespectful campers that ruin anything nice. Great job and good luck on the rest of the...
Read moreSmall, clean, safe, excellently professionally maintained with beautiful sunrises encapsulated our 2nd stay experience at Coastline RV Resort “East”.
There are two Resorts, an East and West. This review is about the East resort as the west is still being updated
While there are not a lot of sites they are excellently maintained with enough space to not be interrupted by your neighbors. All utilities are well maintained as well as the paver pad where you can relax with your own cedar picnic table and enough room to make your very own outside living room.
The site is clean upon arrival as staff personally checks each site before their next client arrives. There is a grounds maintenance employee working onsite to ensure the landscaping is neatly trimmed including removing any rubbish that you may have dropped off at the protected and hidden trash cans are emptied promptly at 5pm each day and taken to an off-site location.
You can be assured that your stay will be safe as a visually well-maintained business typically only attracts responsible clients/campers.
There are two separate fenced dog runs that have cedar landscaping to ensure weeds are kept at bay but yet allow your pet a clean environment to play or take care of business while it also makes it obvious where they did their business:)
Almost every morning 30 to 40 minutes before sunrise you can watch the amazing sunrises either from the front of the resort or from the pier across the street. The best sites to watch the sunrises from the inside - for those too lazy to go outside that early - are right up front along Highway 98. However, be aware that the traffic on the 2-lane highway is busy and unfortunately noisy but that is a small inconvenience for the view. Also, be aware that the best times for sitting outside and looking out at the Apalachicola Bay and Saint George Sound is early morning during sunrise and late afternoons when the breeze/winds off the water is much easier to tolerate. The breeze/wind is probably the “only” negative. If your site is back a few spaces then the wind is less of an issue.
And finally, make sure to visit Brag-n-bones Barbecue which is only a short 10 minute walk if that and is adjacent to and on the west side of the Coastline West resort. You will not be disappointed with your dinner as it far exceeds any smoked type meals you will find anywhere in...
Read moreOverall decent RV park but too expensive considering the location. We will not be back. Pros: Park is well maintained and nice looking. Staff were great. Shout out to Bill and Joyce and another fellow whose name I can't remember who were very nice and helpful. Cons: Pull-through site was not lined up well with the concrete pad and was very narrow with gravel falling off steeply on the sides, so had to do a lot of maneuvering to get in perfectly and to be able to level without jacks being crooked. The sites should be better considering the cost. Had to deal with some of the most rude, loud, and inconsiderate people we've ever come across in an RV park. Frankly, there were just a lot of low class people with no manners. The management frequently warned people not to walk through the RV sites to get to the pool, but the easy solution would be to simply make a little path so guests don't have to walk on the road. This isn't the RV park's fault, but the beach was the worst on the northern Gulf coast. The water was dirty and brown with lots of algae, and the beach itself was small and drops off steeply. It is nothing compared to beaches further west with cleaner water and white sands. Again, not the RV park's fault, but there are only 3 grocery stores in the area - a local store, Dollar General, and Piggly Wiggly which is 10 miles away. They are small, crowded, and very expensive. We knew this area was remote and didn't offer a lot, but when you stay for 3 weeks it becomes pretty inconvenient and costly.
The RV park claims the beach was voted #1 in the USA in 2023. Voted #1 by whom, I wonder? Anyway, one can visit and judge for themselves. For us it was one of the worst beaches we've ever been to.
Another issue I forgot to mention - there were several times where people arrived after 11pm and as late as 1am and made lots of noise hooking up their RVs. Most RV parks don't allow these very late arrivals, but this one does - just another reason we will never...
