Disappointed with our experience at Gooseberry Lodges. It was not at all what we were expecting. From the photos online to the reviews, even customer service was great. We booked the 4 Deluxe Cabin Suite cabin through Airbnb. However, it wasn’t until we google searched “things to do in the area” we noticed that Gooseberry had a website. Out of curiosity, I checked the cabin prices and our exact room was $100 cheaper. I contacted Aaron to see if he could do anything for us. He was very kind and resolved the issue quickly and adjusted the price to save us a little over $100.

However, we checked in on Friday and we arrived pm. I took video from the moment we drove into the cabins to the moment we entered the room. My son had to use the bathroom and when he lifted the toilet seat screamed “Ew blood”. There was blood on the toilet, there was blood on the door as well. It was evident that the guests before us were on their menstrual cycle, and the trash can in the bathroom REAKED! We had to take it outside it smelled so bad. We immediately called the main office 3x and no answer. I then texted Aaron and sent him a picture and video and no answer. Since we arrived late there was no one in the main office. We luckily found cleaning products under the kitchen sink. I had to clean the whole bathroom. It was either I clean it or start looking for a hotel late at night. Besides the disgusting bathroom, our kids loved the cabin. The loft made them feel they were in a tree house. We had a whole weekend plan of things to do and weren’t going to spend much time in the cabin.

I’m just very disturbed by how the bathroom was not cleaned at all. It wasn’t just a missed spot. It made me question if anything else in the cabin was properly cleaned. It’s very disappointing because I truly feel we just had bad luck. The cabins are very cute. If you book a cabin make sure to get there right at check-in time so that someone is in the main office. Otherwise, if you get there late your stuck cleaning the room yourself with very little cleaning products. Other than that issue we had a great time. But I definitely won’t...

If I could give this place 100 stars I honestly would, just a heads up, this will be a long review, we are in love with this place. Staying in these cabins were the highlight of our vacation. My wife and I stayed in a resort and these cabins were far better than the resort we stayed at. The cabin was extremely cozy, it felt like we were staying at home. We were lucky enough to get a cabin with a bathroom in it and the inside had a mini fridge that held more than expected, a decent sized sink, and a microwave along with a loft with a bed. Outside was a grill, firepit, a picnic table, hammock that you could set up and a free bundle of wood. Wood was sold at the office for $5.00 on what you felt was a bundle of wood. Nothing about this place was cheap or uncomfortable, the beds and blankets were amazing and the heater/ac works better than any hotel that we have stayed at. Each cabin is far enough away from everyone that you have your own space but close enough that if you would like to hang out with others you were able too. And that isn't even all of it, there was a small playground for the kids and a few games of cornhole set up. While there, the power did go out but that did not in any way make a negative impact on our stay. The night was nice, the other people were amazing. The owner contacted us and speed to us to bring everyone free fire wood for the rest of the night. Everyone that we talked to that was staying in the near by cabins did not care about the power going out and enjoyed spending time outside with their families as they unplugged. The power was up and running within 30 minutes. Inside the office, there were pots and pans for us to use to make our own food. They provided lighter fluid for the firepit and sticks to make smores. We wish this location was closer to home so that we could go more often. We are planning to take a trip by to Zion, just to stay in the...

Our two small families stayed here in the one bedroom suite for 4 nights. There’s a king size bed with closet downstairs, and 2 queen beds and a futon in the loft upstairs. The beds and pillows were very very comfortable. We spent 2 days hiking at Zion, which is just a 40 minute drive away, and 1 day at Bryce Canyon, 2 hours away. Having a comfortable bed to crash on every night really helped make this trip even better! Having our own shower and space to store food was perfect. We still checked out the public showers since there were several of us to one shower, and they were fantastic as well. Super clean, easy to use. We also had our own washer and dryer in our lodge and they worked great, we had to use them quite a few times since we packed light. Every employee we spoke to was incredibly nice and helpful, both on the phone before we arrived and in person. I loved the supplies they offered inside the office. S’mores kits, snacks, coffee, bug spray, paper plates, washer and dryer, etc. Incredibly well thought out! The views from the porch of our lodge were just beautiful. We sat around the fire pit almost every night. In our down time we also utilized the playground, pickleball court, and the mini golf. You just have to ask for the equipment at the office and be sure to return it when you’re done. The kids loved this place, and so did the adults. Honestly, Gooseberry Lodges played a big part in our discussions about making the 16 hour drive back to Utah for future vacations. We will definitely want to stay here again. While we were here, they were building a new office/game room building and an in ground pool/hot tub situation by the mini golf. Can’t wait to check those out...
