My husband and I rented one of these tiny homes for a week. It was clean, the grounds were well kept and very quiet (except for some road noise, which they can't do much about). It looked as if it would be the perfect home base for our vacation. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
I'll spare you all the gory details and just say that it took us a couple days to realize that the issues we started having with the plumbing were not minor, not normal and were getting worse so we emailed management at about 7am one morning to come take a look. Someone responded at about 8am that they had some personal reasons that would keep them from coming out until later that night, but they would be there (I was fine with this). However, by 8am THE NEXT MORNING, no one had come out or contacted us further. At this point, our situation was even worse and we were getting desperate so I decided to call the main number where the owner of the property answered. When I described our situation, he scolded me for calling the "wrong" phone number and I was told that he "didn't deal with the day to day". I was very respectful at this point and was simply asking for some help. I didn't appreciate his almost detached attitude. That said, he did contact the property manager and she showed up soon after where she determined that the issue was not something she could fix quickly and she moved us to a different tiny home.
Yes, the owner did help us...eventually. Yes, the solution the property manager gave us was perfectly acceptable and she really seemed to care. But why were we left for over 24 hours without fully functioning plumbing? Why is there no contingency plan for when the property manager is unavailable? Why is this "acceptable" phone number not more readily found? Pipes burst, heating systems blow cold air, keys are lost. Emergencies do not only happen during business hours and, as we all know, they pop up when it is the least convenient for everybody.
At the end of the day, I believe a business is only as good as their customer service. And I do understand that being in a business like this is really tough, but all I'm asking is for a business owner to try. To be so nonchalant when we asked for help and to imply that it was our fault that we didn't contact the "right" people through the "acceptable" channels as the reason why we were left in this almost unlivable situation is unprofessional and inexcusable.
Don't stay here until they get their...
Read moreNot for everyone! Read so you don’t make a mistake like we did. First off, these are NOT in Hurricane. They are 20-30m SW from Hurricane in Apple Valley. That added a lot of unnecessary travel time for us. These are also right off hwy 59, and because they aren’t well insulated, you’ll hear cars passing by all night long. Next, the beds are all just on the floor and you cannot sit up in them. We have lots of bruises and injuries from crawling in and out of bed and up and down ladder steps. The water is from a well and has lots on iron in it. When you shower or wash hands it smells like you are washing yourself in blood. The temperature of the water was also only warm, so no hot showers. The couch was uncomfortable and dirty, but there wasn’t anywhere else to sit inside. In fact there isn’t anywhere to sit or eat anywhere. I guess you could use your lap or the fireplace ledge outside. But if it’s cold, hot, or bad weather outside, good luck. The temperature was also an issue inside. The upper beds were hot and shedding covers while the bottom beds were too cold. There were lots of other issues too that made our first night not enjoyable. We reached out to the host early in the morning and asked if we could check out and get a refund for the 2nd night. They would not refund our money, but offered another larger unit away from the road. They said we could leave our belongings and transfer later after it had been cleaned. When we came back from our activities, we reached out for the access code for the new unit. (We’d had trouble getting the access codes the first night.) Unfortunately, they ended up renting it to another party. They offered other units, but they had the same set up along the road. They offered to let us use the hot tub in another unit if we stayed in our unit so we did that. But when we went to get in the hot tub, the cover had blown off and the temperature was only 89 degrees. So we walked back in the cold and just went to bed. The host was nice and trying to help, but if we had known all the issues we’d have I wish we had just left and stayed somewhere else so we could have enjoyed our last night of vacation. Long story, know what you’re going into before staying here. They look cute and inviting, but...
Read moreWe stayed here mid June 2025 in the starboard unit. This is a great proposition for those wanting a little different experience in Southern Utah. One of the great things about this stay was that it was outside of the main part of hurricane with an absolutely amazing view. We sat by the fire of our rooftop deck just taking it all in. The houses are all different so I'd suggest one that works with your preferences. We arrived and the home was very clean and we presented on the website.
The decor was fun and greatly themed. I loved the little ships wheel on the rooftop deck.
The kitchen was well equipped and had pretty much everything we needed to cook dinner every night we were there. They're was a propane barbecue grill on the patio that we used to grill steaks and a small propane fire pit on the roof deck and roasted marshmallows. I'd recommend buying groceries in hurricane and bringing them up as the only thing nearby is a really expensive gas station.
The living area was cozy with a Roku powered TV and a small electric heater embedded in the wall. Couch was good for 3. It is a little tight.
Bathrooms were great and spacious. The sink and toilet/shower are separate so someone can dress and get ready while someone else showers or uses the toilet. The shower is a rainfall shower with a hand wand as well. There were plenty of towels available along with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner if you didn't bring your own.
The sleeping situation is the only part that I had real issue with. The mattresses and bedding were very comfortable, but getting to them was not great in our particular unit. You have to climb and crawl into the sleeping area. I would suggest maybe adding some foam or padding to make it a little easier on the knees. I'm taller (6'3") and it was slightly awkward. I did appreciate the outlets up there. Overall it's really your preferences if you like it or not.
This is a great spot near the park with a great view. The value was excellent and we feel we certainly got a unique stay that is something we'd do again. The neighborhood is very quiet and serene. We're certainly considering it when we decide...
