We stayed at the bed and breakfast for my birthday. Overall this was a very relaxing trip. Very quiet and enjoyed some much needed R&R. The food is very health conscious but good. Smaller portions of food but tasty meals. We stayed in the butterfly suite and lovely room. Nice fireplace inside the room and very much exactly as the picture online. Very nice size room with a balcony. Not much time spent outside on the balcony due to the heat in July! but it is a nice room. The Butterfly Suite is upstairs in the main house in the corner. I recommend for a nice relaxing visit. The only reason I didn't give five stars is for a couple of reasons...
A) They do have walking trails but it is not concrete trails. My hubby and I decided to take a walk one evening only to our surprise went from romantic to an all out workout/hike in the grass! Luckily I wore decent shoes and not sandals/flip flops. The trails are grassy. They mowed fields to create the trails? Unless you're up for a bit of a workout I wouldn't recommend the walking trails. They told us hammocks are out there and some benches so we decided wow this will be nice outside in the evening.. wow I was unpleasantly surprised. We had to turn around after walking so far since trees started to literally cover the trails to where you almost couldn't walk through.
B) Another odd situation was Jennifer. I believe she is one of the owners of the B&B and wife of David who was great by the way. He was very personable and friendly to all his guest. She introduced herself to my husband downstairs when he took the trash down from our room and he came back and said she seemed really nice... so later I decided to go downstairs with my hubby to look around at the DVDs they have for guest to watch. while we both were downstairs we saw Jennifer. My hubby asked her a question about the B&B and as I stood there next to him she answered his question and I assumed she would have introduced herself to me as well as she did my hubby and she did not? She did not speak to me at all or make any sort of eye contact. I found that odd since she introduced herself to my hubby and he said yeah that was rude of her. I was bothered for a bit but all in all we had a relaxing visit. The location is not in Ardmore but Dickson, OK which is about maybe 10 mins or so from Ardmore. Not a bad drive to go get food and shopping if you choose.. but the B&B is very much in the country. It is gated and I recommend....
Read moreThis was an amazing trip from start to finish! My wife and I are college students in the Okc metroplex area. My cousin and his wife have stayed here and loved it so for our wedding gift they sent us here for the weekend. It’s a beautiful wooded area with classic north eastern American style, architecture, and furnishings, with a few hints of southern flare if you look closely. The rooms and separate houses provide a beautiful and private experience where we were able to dine, watch movies, bathe in a large tub with candles provided near by, and enjoy the scenery while soaking in a private hot tub, secluded from others.
The hosts were very kind and available to answer questions. We were treated well as were all the other guests we saw interactions with. We met a couple at breakfast who has been coming to the inn every year for 15 years!
The food was wonderful, breakfast was served every morning between 8:30 and 9:30 and it was out of this world! Dinner is available for an additional charge and will be brought to your room. The dinner options will suit any couples needs.
Town isn’t far away. For lunch you can order a cheese platter, chocolate strawberries, or venture into town where you can find a thriving community of 25,000 residents. It has multiple food options from fast food to more established restaurants. It also has several beautiful antique stores and a cute downtown strip. We found live music and a few cafes downtown.
There is a trail at the inn that is around 1mile in length, with secluded off shoots leading to hammocks and picnic tables. These make for good early morning runs or romantic evening walks. The trails are wide, well maintained, clearly marked, and nearly impossible to confuse.
When we first arrived it was our first experience at an inn. We asked at breakfast what there was ‘to do here.’ David smiled and said “well the short answer is nothing, just relax.” He then explained that there were several municipal and federal parks within an hours drive, that town (30 minutes away) has a great downtown area, and that the inn keeps movies, books, and puzzles for guests available at all times.
We enjoyed our early morning walks and antique shopping, but really the best part was relaxing in our cottage and doing little next to nothing. After planning a wedding and meeting and greeting so many people this was the perfect little spot to nuzzle in and...
Read moreI cannot recomend Shiloh Morning Inn enough. First off, the setting is GORGEOUS from the white fence and gated entrance to the thick woods surrounding the property, to the inn itself. We stayed in one of the private cottages. The cottage we stayed in had a luxurious king size bed. The decor is cozy. There was a gas fireplace which makes for beautiful ambiance. The bathroom was roomy with a sunken tub and a shower with 2 shower heads. To top it off there was a screened porch with a hot tub on it. My husband and I are ummm heavily plus sized to put it nicely and there was plenty of room for both of us to be in the hot tub comfortably. This was our getaway for our 25th anniversary and it was perfect. I brought champagne but forgot glasses, but Shiloh Morning Inn had me covered because there were 2 glasses already in the room. Small details like this really made the stay even more enjoyable. There are white robes for guests to use. There were even oils to use in the hot tub. And you know the freebie soaps and shampoos that hotels give out? They have those but then they also have their own lip balm they give out. There is a 3 course breakfast included with your stay. We almost skipped it to get out the door earlier to go fishing, but we decided a sit down breakfast sounded good. So glad we decided to partake in the breakfast. It was so good! We started with a fruit smoothie, followed by cranberry scone. I honestly could have eaten a dozen of the scones. They were SO GOOD! The 3rd course was an egg frittata with bacon. Again delish! The owner came out to visit with us after our breakfast was served. You can tell he enjoys his job. We loved our experience from check in to check out! If you need a romantic get away, this is definitely a great place to go. I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend Shiloh...
