We wanted to book this cabin, but were hesitant because of the couple previous 1 star reviews that people left due to the road leading to the cabin being bad. My car is slightly lowered and I was worried that i wouldn't make it because one of the reviews said that a regular car cant make it and need a 4x4 or a tractor. We decided to take our chances and we are glad we did. I now think that the person who left that review has never been off pavement with his car. I made it up and down 4 times just fine, the stretch from the highway to the cabin is no more then 100m. Don't expect it to be a drive way to a 5 star hotel, but its nothing to be afraid of. As for the cabin, its exactly as you would expect from a cabin, it is nice and cozy and most importantly clean. The view is also spectacular. There is also tea, milk and some little snacks provided which is a nice touch. The cabin has no cellular reception and no wifi, the closest one is at a gas station. I wish the owners encouraged the guests to leave reviews online, such as here on Google and other places as there is a full book of positive reviews from guests, but its inside the cabin and only bad reviews get online which makes it look like its a bad place. It is a great cabin as you can see in the photos I am attaching here. Give it a try and don't forget to leave a positive review online if...
Read moreEasily one of the best cabin experiences we’ve ever had. It is a very convenient location if you want to be close to Mt Baker Highway and the wilderness.
We had the Alpenglow Suite, and the cabin was clean and cozy with a beautiful view (see photo). We stayed for one night, and the cabin had everything we needed - hot running water (for a shower after a long day), muffins and bananas and milk for a decent breakfast, and a remote check-in process with the option to talk to the owners at any time if you had any questions. They had movies and a TV, plenty of books and magazines, and even puzzles! WiFi/signal was spotty so I recommend downloading maps for offline use before getting there. Perfect for a rustic escape.
Best part by far was the hospitality and integrity of the owners. I called the owner, Bill, in a panic the afternoon I checked out because I’d accidentally left my engagement ring in a panic, and he and Julie were great about mailing me the engagement ring back the very next day with a tracking number. They’re very honest people, and it meant so much to me that they would do that! I would recommend their cabin to ANYBODY looking for a nice place to stay near Mt Baker and look forward to booking them again...
Read moreRodent infestation! The apartment smells bad of rodent urine and feces!
The road up to the apartment is long and very rough, pot holes and big bumps in the roads. My Subaru car struggled and bottomed out numerous times trying to climb the steep hill. Very dark and sketchy property to access the very sub par accommodation.
Instantly when you enter the apartment, you catch the smell of rodent urine and feces. Saw numerous droppings in the cabinets and on the counters and even in the very uncomfortable bed. The whole place is outdated especially for the price they are asking. The second night we found our snacks that we had brought with us and out in the cabinet had been eaten by mice and then we later saw a mouse running into a dark corner of the place. Bathroom had mold growing on the ceiling and overall we were dissatisfied with the stay, will never return. The overall property seemed like something from a backwoods horror film, with construction half done all over the place and run down broken vehicles littered throughout the property. Would not recommend, many other cleaner more sanitary accommodations in glacier and maple falls....
