From the moment we walked in the door to check in we knew that this was a GREAT place to stay the weekend!! The whole lodge was extremely clean and every employee we came in contact with was very friendly! With this whole Covid-19 thing going on.. that is not one problem to them when it comes time to your room and the whole lodge in general. When we checked in we were given a piece of paper letting us know that nobody has been in our room for three days. They give the housekeeper plenty of time to disinfect your room before your stay. That made us feel really good about the room. While you are there the housekeeper or nobody else is allowed in your room till you leave. If you need in supply for your room just ask the front desk for it. No biggie to us!! And if you need clean towels or whatnot just put your dirty ones outside your door and the housekeeper will bring you new ones in a plastic bag and put outside your door. The grounds of the lodge is so breathtaking!!!! I can not stress that enough! We had a room with a lake view. Needless to say we kept the blinds opened so we could admire the view while we were in the room(which was very little)!!

They have a hiking trail right outside the lodge that is about one mile long called "Island Trail". We did not have time to do that one but we for sure will do it on our next return. They have a little playground right outside in front of the lodge for the kids to play on. Numerous picnic tables and benches to set on and just gaze at the beautiful lake & the boaters go by that is just right in front of you to enjoy! I think It is pretty cool that they have fire rings along with fire wood that sets in different setting areas for you to enjoy when the nights start getting cooler.

We had all our meals in the dinning room. Yes, the menu is limited because of Covid but there is plenty to choose from for all three meals! My husband and I are Vegan so we had even less of a chose but what we did have was so delish! We had "veggie pizza" one night and "veggie burgers with stem vegetable melody and fries a couple of other meals. They also offer a full bar of beer and wine if that is something you would like to have.

The lodge is also pet friendly so you can bring your "fur buddy" along with you.

The pool and hot tub area was very clean and well taken care of. The pool is heated and it felt very nice even on a hot weekend that we had. There is a handicap chair at the pool area & the hot tub so everyone gets to enjoy!!

I can not say enough great things about this place!! You will not be disappointed if you decide to stay. We for sure will be...

We had a great stay here despite the fact that it rained every day! We are RV campers, and we camped in the easternmost campground, which does have sewer service unlike the older campgrounds. It's confusing to find this campground unless you know to turn left IMMEDIATELY after entering the park. We went all the way to the visitor center after hours before we realized our campground was completely on the opposite side of the park from the others. Some of the sites were pull-through, most were back-in. There was plenty of room to back in & set up. Lots of trees and shade, and in this particular section of the campgrounds there were lake views & easy access to the shoreline in almost all the sites.

We went in mid-June and the place was REALLY crowded. Campgrounds were booked solid. It is called a "resort state park" so I suppose that's not super surprising. It's not a state park where you go to feel off the grid. It's fairly close to civilization; the drive to Caddo Valley was less than 10 minutes, and about 15-20 minutes to Arkadelphia, which has a Walmart Supercenter.

It IS, however, a great state park if you're looking for activities. Disc golf is pretty standard for parks, but there was also a place for horseback rides, a golf course, a marina, fishing, guided tours, a restaurant, and an escape room. If we go again I will certainly check out the horseback rides!

Bathrooms were well-maintained & clean. Shower pressure was good, but some of the shower heads didn't have a very even spray.

We didn't hike the trails at this one because of the rain. We did take advantage of the swimming beach one afternoon when we got a break from the rain. There's a ramp for assistance into the water, several picnic tables, and the whole area leading up to the water is shaded by very tall, very old pines. Excellent swimming hole. The boat ramp was nearby and looked pretty big, for all that I know about boat ramps. I drive a land barge but I don't know the first 2 things about boats.

Overall, a great state park experience! If Arkansas as a state does one thing consistently well, it's...

ThIs resort is BEAUTIFUL! It is nestled on top of a mountain, away from everything. All you need is right on the resort to have a great time. Even with it being so far from civilization, you can still get great phone reception. But if not, they have a business center along with a gym, hot tub, and pool. The rooms are clean, and the staff is very nice and helpful. I left home w/o my BP monitor, and they have one on-site and were happy to let me borrow it several times. Our room overlooked the AMAZING lake. They even have an island you can boat, swim, or kayak out to and relax, swim, picnic, or have yourself a party on. There is plenty of space on the grounds to play games. There are trails all over the place and a golf course. You can rent paddle boats, canoes or kayaks, and dock your boat at the Marina. They have a full restaurant, but I warn you, it is a bit on the pricey side. The pool was too warm to enjoy, but that is Mother Nature's fault. It had been very hot. However, that did not stop families from enjoying it; even me. This place is very busy, so you need to make reservations WAY in advance. The lake is HUGE, but the water is very calm, which makes it great for enjoying a jet ski ride. For you dare devils, sorry; there are not enough boats to make waves for you. You'll have to think outside the box. This place is a...
