Nice hotel, great location, but staff needs additional training. We do a lot of cross country traveling, and always stay at Fairfield Inn and suites along the way. (over 130 nights last year alone) The first thing I do, after checking in the hotel, is usually have a coffee to help unwind after a long day of driving. They usually have decent coffee, as did this hotel. But there was no creamer out with it, so I politely asked the front desk if they had any creamer on hand, her response was no I and can’t give you any until breakfast. So I confirmed by asking her that their policy is to serve coffee throughout the day but black coffee only? She said yes, that is how they were trained by Marriott. So I informed her that no other Fairfield has this policy. She reluctantly agreed to look in the back to see if she could find some, which she did. Also I take medication every night that requires it to be taken with milk, so my wife asked for a small milk (as we do in every hotel we stay in) the clerk said no, they can not give out milk except for breakfast no exceptions, so my wife asked her to contact the manager to confirm her position. She reluctantly contacted the manager and about 30 minutes later called our room to give us the milk. She met my wife in the hallway and gave her the milk along with a disrespectful look. Again this is something we do every time we check in a hotel and it has never been a problem, up until now. So the following morning my wife brought it to the manager’s attention, and he stated that “too many titanium members take advantage of the free creamer and milk, and that is how they were taught by Marriott, and the clerk did everything right. So if all of the other Fairfield’s are doing it differently they are wrong for doing so and his hotel is the only one doing it correctly” (I had no idea that titanium members are known for selfishly, hoarding, milk, and creamer. But I guess that is a thing because he said so.) And again he stated that many titanium members have treated the clerk rudely, so she was totally justified in her demeanor, even though we were not being rude in any way. We are not rude people, on the contrary, we have always been respectful and courteous towards everyone. I do not understand the manager’s position on this matter, and I definitely do not believe that is how they were trained by Marriott. I believe additional training is in order for the clerk, but especially at the management...
Read moreGood quality and nice newer facility. Stayed for six weeks due to work. Used washer and dryer several times. They were clean, in good shape and a good value. Some of the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, while a few others were rather indifferent and had the "don't care" or you're bothering me attitude. But that seems to be almost everywhere these days. Housekeeping was good on most days, but a little hit and miss on others depending on who you got assigned to the room. Sometimes they didn't replace items when you ran out, like tissues or soap. Had to ask a couple of times for towels because they forget to restock and also to have the shampoo/bodywash refilled. But rooms and facility was very clean and I never ran out of hot water. A couple of things that chould be corrected would be water pressure in the shower in the room I was in was a little lower flow and the refrigerator in my room kept freezing everything solid. No real way to adjust the temp but had a button to shut off for 8 hours then would come back on super cold and every item I had in there would freeze solid. I reported it to the front desk several times but they never replaced it. It was a frustration when being in a hotel room for over six weeks for work. Would have been a 5 star review without these issues which might not have been an issue at all or even noticed if staying only a night or two, but with an extended stay they became rather frustrating major inconveniences. Other than that though a very good stay overall and at one of the nicer and newer hotels available...
Read moreBrand new Fairfield Inn Arkadelphia surely takes the prize amongst hotels from Hot Springs to New Orleans. Being a retired biotech sales rep. covering 4 states, I have tried them ALL and now I have found a genuine “sweet spot.” Fairfield Inn Ark. masterfully incorporates the prevalent needs of today’s travelers while topping it off with a spa-like serenity. It’s so clean and fresh, the atmosphere, the breakfast, the smiles on all the employees’ faces. It’s a rarity in this day and time to witness a team of professionals like these folks. Like a finely tuned automobile, all parts are synchronized to perfection. The General Manager, Joe, and his wing man, Brady, and his wing man, Mr. Oscar are there, boots on the ground, seeing to it that every guest need is promptly greeted and addressed. Attention to detail, guest satisfaction, guest retention, cleanliness, food quality, style, great mattresses, beautiful aesthetics, stylish carpets, are just some of the impressive attributes that jumped out at me while I was there for 4 days. Proximity is ideal in my opinion as well! We easily maneuvered from the well appointed location to Lake DeGray sunsets, stores, restaurants, Lake Hamilton, Hot Springs, and Magic Spring Amusement Park and Water Park!!! These are some super good folks and we almost cried when we pulled away to come back home. My senior mom and daughter visiting from Sweden loved it, too!! We were so glad we forewent ideas of staying in town (Hot Springs) as we’d done many times before. This was...
