This was my first stay at this Best Western. It is located between Winfield and Arkansas City, Ks. The pricing is a little steep, considering it's in the middle of "no man's land." The facility is well maintained but needs to have regular maintenance checks. I booked and paid through priceline. The check-in was easy. Tristan was amazing! He was professional, polite, and helpful. Offering his assistance for whatever we needed. Kim and Marvin were awesome and helpful as well. All of the employees I encountered were very polite, professional, and great ambassadors for this hotel. The housekeeping staff were busy and helpful. We only got fresh towels daily. We saved the room cleaning until we checked out. This was by choice! had a double queen, accessible suite. Our room was nice and clean upon check-in and no odors. Although, it was very noisy at night! I couldn't tell if it was the air conditioning unit or airplanes. The hotel isn't too far from Strother Field. I also could hear those lodging above me. But you can't help it when people don't give their kids a bedtime. Thank goodness we are sound sleepers. The beds were comfortable, with big fluffy pillows. The towels were bigger and softer than most 3-4 star hotels. The sofa sleeper was used 1 night, and the mattress needs replacing. However, this isn't the first hotel sofa sleeper I've encountered, with a worn mattress needing replaced. The breakfast area was clean and well maintained. The food was good, very hot, fresh, and offered various options. The dining room attendant, Rodolpho, was kind, polite, professional, and really took pride in his job. He kept the counters clean and well stocked. When something got low, he restocked it quickly. The coffee machine was out of some of its choices. But there were other options available. You still have your traditional coffee all day. The pool is small. I saw a sign posted, limiting the attendance in this area to 7. But it was a clean pool and deck with stocked towels. The gym was your basic hotel gym. The stationary bicycle had a broken seat, being held on by a zip tie. The other weight machine and treadmill are what you expect to find in your average hotel gym. It had a TV, was clean, and did have disinfectant wipes to keep machines sanitary. We enjoyed our stay as the rest of my family did also. They were able to sit in the lobby, play cards, visit, and truly enjoy themselves. The icing on this cake are the fresh cookies in the afternoon. Oh my goodness! Thanks, BW Patterson Pkwy, for helping make our Family Reunion...

I made a reservation on Tuesday for a Friday stay for my family of seven — two adults and five kids. Because the online system didn’t allow me to request adjoining rooms, I called directly to ensure we had two rooms with two queen beds each and a rollaway, specifically adjoining. The man on the phone pressured me to book immediately, claiming there were “only three adjoining rooms left” and that I should lock it in before I lost the opportunity.
Fast forward to check-in: No adjoining rooms. Not even close.
Instead, we were handed two rooms with one king bed each. That's two beds total for seven people. A blended family with five children — and the hotel seriously expects us to pretend that’s what we booked?
I immediately called the front desk. The response? A casual, indifferent “there’s nothing I can do.” So I called the main number on the website — same thing: “Since you’re already in the rooms, there’s nothing we can do.”
It was midnight on a holiday weekend. What exactly were we supposed to do — drive our exhausted kids back to Wichita?
Suddenly, nobody remembers the phone call I made. Suddenly, there’s no record of the verbal confirmation. Suddenly, they’re insisting I booked online — which I absolutely did not.
And of course, nobody can issue a refund. Nobody can fix the mistake. Nobody is “authorized” to do anything.
$500 later, we're crammed into two rooms that aren’t remotely what we booked — and the hotel staff seems perfectly fine with that. The level of disorganization and blatant lack of accountability is staggering.
This wasn’t just a mistake — it was gross negligence, followed by radio silence, gaslighting, and total apathy. Customer service clearly ranks dead last on this property’s priorities. But I guess when you’re the only game in a small town, you don’t have to...
Read moreWe booked a 2 night stay through a third party. My husband and I checked in just fine on night 1. However, the afternoon of night 2, we had just returned from taking care of items related to my MIL's death, and we were literally walked in on in our locked room by another couple who entered our room with a key. We were all quite shocked. They said they had just checked in and were given our room and obviously their keys worked. I called the front desk and they said someone had messed up, sorry. Then I had to go back to the front desk because our room keys had been deactivated. We were quite upset at this turn of events and not sure we will stay at this location again because of this. When we checked out we again reiterated to the new clerk what had happened who said that had never happened before. He said we had booked with a third party and there was an issue with the credit card that they used, but that was "not our problem." It also appears we only received one night's stay credit for the hotel rewards, instead of two nights. We were not offered any kind of credit, extra amenities, refund, nothing, barely even an "I'm sorry." Not what we expect for the $250+ we paid for 2 nights. There are much cheaper hotels that are more conveniently located that we could have chosen, and may next time, due to this incident. The experience of being walked in on in our locked room that apparently the hotel booked to someone else, even though we had already PREPAID FOR 2 nights, and it was only like 3:00 or 4 pm the 2nd day, was not only uncomfortable but was also a...
