We were heading home (New Orleans) from a vacation in New England and wanted to stop about halfway down the Natchez Trace. I found this place by looking for lodging along the route by doing a Google search. It looked like a unique place to stay and priced appropriately, so I reserved it for a night. Unequivocally, I am happy that I did.
It’s a beautiful facility, an old school, and the room was fantastic. One wall was a huge bookcase filled with books, the shower in the bathroom was top notch, the bed extraordinarily comfortable, and the area was as serene as could be. The proprietor kept in touch with me via text and I always knew that if I needed anything I could reach out. Breakfast was continental, but everything you could want for a traveler. Great coffee, and a good selection of light breakfast fare. Could not have asked for more and have already told folks that I know about the place.
If by chance you were visiting family in Starkville or any surrounding area, I promise it is well worth your time to stay here. One thing to note, there are several ways to access this Motel. Look at your map and if it says the road may be dirt or gravel it is which is not a real issue, but can be a challenge in the dark with no lights to guide the way. Choose the paved road even if it’s a few minutes out of your way. For me, it didn’t matter because I’m used to real country road driving, but it might surprise some folks if they’re not prepared for it.
Easily four stars. Stay here if you have the...
Read moreThe room was very clean, beds and pillows super comfortable. There were snacks, water, coffee maker and condiments on dresser, cokes in refrigerator. The manager called to see if we had everything we needed. I asked for another towel, was 1 short for the people we had, and she immediately brought it to us, along with more snacks! We went into Starkville to eat, was only about 9 miles from Ms State. The grounds were very pretty and well kept. Had outdoor furniture and firepit for use. We were 3 women traveling and felt completely safe staying here, and we were the only ones there. The manager was on premises till 10 pm, if we needed anything. Would recommend staying here for anyone going to events at Ms State. Oh, and the venue, for weddings or whatever, is beautiful! The whole wedding party could stay here! Also, the drive in was pretty. Check in super easy. It was a wonderful experience! And the owner responded, quickly, to any question or concern I had. Highly recommend. Oh and it had the rainforest shower head (and a regular one), it...
Read moreWonderful wonderful wonderful! I wish this was a chain! This was the best and most relaxing night of sleep that I have ever had outside of my own house This is a quaint hotel nestled in a very quiet area outside of Starkville. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the room was the cleanliness and how fresh it smelled. Unlike a lot of other places I have stayed, the room had complimentary snacks, water, and soft drinks. You receive a text message with directions on how to get into your room before your arrival, so there is no need to have to park, check in, and park again. The snack area had a nice variety of snacks, drinks, and sandwiches, all of which were self-checkout. The bed and pillows were the best I think I have ever slept on. This is a great place for a traveler who needs a good night's sleep. It would also be an ideal place to host a retreat, training,...
