There is a 10$ day use fee at this park as it is maintained by the local Jackson county though it is situated in an area designated as national forest. If you’re spending more than a couple of hours here, it is totally worth it. 🙂 Most people here seem to come by for a picnic. On a sunny day, the park is crowded; don’t be surprised by the parking lot being quite full! There are many park benches and plenty of space to spread out a blanket and enjoy the sun. Tall trees offer shade if you want to stay away from direct sunlight too. The water is clear, and warm (blue green algae is a big problem at most of the lakes around here). The lake has a larger "no wake" area perfect for kayaks and paddle boards, and great for taking a dive. There is a rop swing if you can get to the other side of the lake too. And it has a gorgeous view of Mt. McLaughlin. The camp grounds are a bit dusty, but to be expected. We love this lake and have been coming...
