I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but there were some problems. The worst was that the people in the room next door had two dogs, which they left in the room while they left the motel for several hours. Their dogs never stopped barking, for hours! Several other guests and I were upset, but the front desk could do nothing about it. They tried calling the guests on the phone number they registered with, but to no avail. The motel needs a pet policy that enforces the rules with a monetary penalty. I did NOT get the sleep I needed because the dogs barked late into the night. The same people let their dogs out of their room to relieve themselves, unleashed and unsupervised. This caused my own dog to become restless, seeing dogs wandering outside. (Luckily my dog is not a barker.). The owners never realized one of their dogs hadn't returned to the room, and were outside MY room yelling for their dog because it had wandered off (30 minutes or so later.). Again, this was against the pet policy, but nothing was done. On top of all that, the beds are WAY too soft; they are not comfortable. I heard other guests complaining of the same thing at breakfast. The room was very clean. Wifi was good. The view is OUTSTANDING. The breakfast they served was good. I really like that they had assigned parking spaces. If this motel does something about enforcing their pet policy, and replaces their mattresses, it...

Overpriced, dirty and uncomfortable. We were traveling with our family of 5 and decided to "splurge" on the family suite so that we would have room for all of us. That was a waste. There weren't enough beds for us and when I asked for a rollaway bed, they said it would be an additional $15 for the night. After already spending MORE($200) for the room with no view, but was advertised as the "Family Suite" I expected it to actually have the amount of space a family needs. Not require me to pay an additional fee to actually provide what we needed.

Not to mention, the floor felt like I was walking on sand from the moment we stepped in. When my daughter took a shower, the bath mat sat on the floor for 5 minutes and was black. Not to mention I found stained and dirty towels under the bed that were covered in cobwebs and spiders - who knows how long they had been there.

The room itself had paneled walls like in a trailer park home and I felt like I had paid $200 to stay in trailer.

I would not normally give a 1 star review as I try to give the benefit of the doubt, but when I emailed the manager to voice my concerns, I got absolutely no response, so because the lack of customer service was so poor as well, I am giving it 1 star. I would never go back and I would never recommend this motel to anyone.

Which is very disappointing, because the reviews were overwhelmingly good. I do not share...

This is a clean, pleasant place just east of Astoria. It’s an older style 1970’s motor inn, 2 stories. (No elevator). Although not a fancy place, all the rooms sit on a bluff overlooking the Columbia River and Megler Bridge, with gorgeous views, particularly at sunset. |The room was older style but well maintained. |But be aware the rooms are NOT air conditioned, but a large box fan was provided and the sliding glass door provided plenty of ventilation during a recent heat wave. It cooled down pretty well. |A laundry is available on site. It is pet friendly. |There is a hot tub available on the back lawn, but no pool or gym. |The staff was very friendly; one minor issue we had was addressed promptly. |A basic breakfast was provided: cereal, waffles, toast/bagels/muffins, yogurt cups and hard boiled eggs. |The area was quiet and the other visitors were friendly. Many gather on the back lawn to chat or watch the sunsets. We really liked the fact that it was just far enough out of town to be very quiet, but close enough to get to Astoria in 5 minutes. |Don’t be fooled by a 2 star rating! This was a lovely motel and you didn’t have to break the bank to stay there. If you want to pay $300-400 a night, head to the chain hotels in town. |We were here 3 nights and thoroughly...

This was our second stay at the Astoria Crest Motel. It is a great little motel with phenomenal views--very picturesque. They have an adequate free breakfast with many food items to choose from so that you won't leave hungry. (No hot food items except for the waffles.) It is a great value for what you get and approximately $50/night less than some of the big name hotels in the area. However, with paying less, you also get a bit less. There are no luggage racks in any of the rooms, so you either put your suitcases on the night stand, coffee table, or the floor. They have hair dryers available, but you have to ask for them at the office. (I didn't know this until I checked out.) The walls are somewhat thin and you do hear some of the conversations from neighboring rooms, especially if guests do not consider their "volume". If you have this knowledge before you stay here and come prepared, you will thoroughly enjoy your stay. The staff are wonderful! I highly recommend booking the king suite, which is larger and has a great view of Astoria, the Astoria-Megler Bridge, and all of the ship traffic traversing the Columbia River. The sunset over the Astoria-Megler Bridge is beautiful. (Keep in mind it does rain here a lot.) Yes, I would stay here again, and bring a hair dryer the next time.

There are many positives to consider with this economic choice. The views are lovely, and the service is excellent, including both front desk and maid service. I paid $129 for Room 203 on the second floor, which offers a great view and a beautiful patio. The room features a nice tub and a decent shower, although the water pressure could be better (but that is understandable for a lower-budget option). Overall, the room is very clean and functional, and parking is clearly labeled by room number. However, there are some drawbacks: the walls are quite thin, so I could hear my neighbor snoring. Additionally, the bed was too soft for my liking. From Room 203, street noise can be significant, especially with trucks passing by at all hours. While I appreciate that the property has a no-smoking or vaping policy, smokers congregate outdoors, and I could still smell smoke when opening my patio door for a breeze. Lastly, it's a bit of a drive from the main street. Nicer options in the area are about double the price, so I highly recommend Astoria Crest if you're traveling on a budget.

Although the main office employees are friendly and helpful and the office faces and sits on the edge of the ocean and there’s a great wood burning fireplace to make it cozy, the room was not exactly clean nor is the office. So there is a bit of a funkiness feel (especially for you discerning folks). And perhaps motels are just not my thing, anymore because I don’t love stomping overhead (from the second floor when you stay on the first floor) or the constant noise of doors opening and closing (that sound like it’s your door, when it’s not). The mattress felt uneven, the pillows (all 4) were lumpy and the blanket and cover were paper thin so that I cranked the heat up to 80 to feel comfortable enough to sleep! All in all, it felt like an old Motel 6. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who prefers somewhere newer and cleaner. It’s not the worst place in the world and it’s also not high on my list.
