We found this tent only campground after being turned away at another and boy am I happy we did! The entrance is clearly marked and easy to find. You drive down a long road to get to the campgrounds. Once you pull up to the entrance you call the number to check in. The woman I talked to was pleasant and quick to let me know what was available. She did all the work. She did not make me reserve online like most, which I appreciate very much! There are a few levels of camp sights from which to choose. The highest level requires a small jaunt but the views are worth it! All sights are spaced well so you are not up on each other and each site is large enough for more than 1 tent if desired. There are port a potty type restrooms which were very clean. The location is perfectly situated to allow visiting all the local attractions. There is no electricity so the darkness of night allows a view of the stars that will stay with you forever. We would have extended our stay but the camp grounds were sold out for the weekend. Once you stay here you will plan your return visit as soon...

Went into this trip with high expectations from all the Google reviews and was not disappointed. The drive into the property is easily distinguishable off the road with large flags that say campground. Next is a 5 minute drive from the bottom of the hill all the way to the top. Firewood was always fully stocked for sale and there's 4 separate bathrooms that are regularly cleaned and stocked along the drive to the top of the hill. Our campsite was at the top, site 24. It overlooked grand island and lake Superior with breathtaking views. Each campsite has a small walk from the parking lot( maybe 25 yards at the most) and the bathroom are at most 60 yards from all the campsites. As far as bugs go there wasn't nearly as many in other areas of munising (I think because we were on top of the hill) but there were the occasional black fly here and there. The wind was rough one day and stole our canopy that we didn't stake down so make sure to secure your stuff if you plan to camp on the hill. All in all I'd give this place 6 stars if I could and can't wait to return in the Fall for...

We were tent camping the Lake Superior Circle Tour and found this place on a fluke and we're so glad we did! Jennifer, the owner, along with her husband and family, were gracious and so helpful when we made our reservation and upon arrival. Each of the spacious 25 tent sites has it's own unique personality, and Jennifer helped match us with the best one for our needs. Some sites are heavily wooded, others are open up on the bluff overlooking Lake Superior, with still others "in between". ||||The property is located far off the highway, minimizing noise. There is an upper and a lower level, with VERY clean pit toilets on the upper level only. Be aware that there are no showers at this time. The upper level has a canopy area with benches where campers gather to watch the sunsets or watch the sunrise with their coffee. Be sure to check their website, as it gives great detail about all the tent sites and their locations. ||||We highly recommend Fort Superior and would return to the area just to stay here again! It was perhaps, the most beautiful campsite we have ever had in our...

If you don't have a mattress with you in the car, then you won't be able to sleep here.
