This place is most likely great for events and of course football games...that's what they cater too. not what expected when i made my reservations. They have a great website. We were only going to stay one night on the way back home to South Carolina from Pensocola Navel Air Station... first thing I see when we pull in is old police cars placed around..with University Security on the doors..of course there was no one in them.. guess they are there to deter criminal activity. .no sure.. it's a big place..but the office is not at the entrance. We had to drive a way back into the campground to find the office...I did have a camp site number they emailed me..but I had no idea where my site was..like i said it's a huge facility. I stopped and ask the girl at the office and she told me it was up at the entrance where those police security cars were... full sun... she said we could pick another site and we did..she told us to just call her back to make sure it was not already reserved. ...ooook. these sites that I seen look to be leased by folks.. there were alot of items left on the camp sites.. grills, wooden platforms etc. Any way I went to hook up my water line which at this site is in the ground under a cover...I opened it and there is no way I am putting my hand down it that damp hole full of leaves and spider webs..black widow type..we sat for a while and decided we are not going to stay here...just did not feel safe there...we left and just drove on back to Columbia SC. I am sure it's a great place for events and Auburn football games...just not a RV resort we were...
Read moreMy husband and I travel with our two small children full time throughout the US for work and have stayed at countless RV parks over the years, all of which we've always thoroughly enjoyed! However, university station was different. Throughout our 3 month stay we never encountered a single friendly face employed at the park. The women in the office are extremely unwelcoming and to be quite frank, down right rude, ESPECIALLY the owner, Jill Holt. The park was the most unkept place we've stayed. The "roads" are a mixture of rocks and dirt with large ruts here and there that no one seems to be concerned with. Countless people who are staying in the park for work as well have gotten personal belongings stolen right from outside their campers and not a single staff member has been the least bit concerned. The only plus side to this park are the free, but out dated washers and dryers that only work on one setting. You're better off going to the laundromat a couple miles away! Wouldn't recommend staying here. There's a couple much nicer parks several miles from this one that are worth it though! We definitely wish we would've weighed our options before choosing...
