"The Rivery Retreat," (Best Place to Stay!) — Hotel in Austin

I had the pleasure of staying at the Guesthouse at The Rivery Retreat this past December, I wanted just a peaceful getaway and it was truly a delightful experience from start to finish. Finding the property was a breeze, thanks to the host’s detailed and thoughtful directions, including clear instructions for parking, which made my arrival stress-free. The grounds were stunning, with meticulously maintained landscaping that showcased the host's attention to detail. Parking was conveniently close to the guesthouse, so I didn’t have to carry my luggage far, which was a nice touch. The guesthouse itself was a haven of comfort and cleanliness. Motion-sensor lights illuminated the porch at night, making my late returns feel safe and welcoming. Inside, every room—the living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom—was spotless and clearly prepared with care. It’s evident that both the host and the cleaning team take great pride in creating an inviting space. The thoughtful amenities made my stay especially memorable. The extensive movie collection, bookshelves stocked with interesting reads, and a variety of coffee and tea options gave me plenty of ways to unwind. I loved sipping my morning coffee on the private deck or enjoying the swings on the long porch, both offering serene views. The linens were wonderfully fresh and soft, adding a touch of luxury, and I appreciated the variety of pillows to suit every preference—plush, medium, firm, and more. The blackout shades in the living room were easy to raise for the breathtaking vista views for miles during the day and the peaceful rest that I needed. The outdoor amenities were equally impressive. The pool was crystal clear and impeccably maintained throughout my stay. The fireplaces, both near the guesthouse and by the pool, were easy to use, with paper, kindling, and logs thoughtfully pre-arranged for convenience. The host’s wine selection was another highlight—a curated assortment of highly rated options that meant I could enjoy an indulgent evening without needing to leave the property. When I did venture out, the host’s recommendations for local groceries, restaurants, entertainment, shopping, and wineries in Hill Country were spot-on and made exploring the area effortless. Overall, my stay at The Rivery Retreat was nothing short of exceptional. The care, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail in every aspect of my visit made it a perfect getaway. The property grounds are really beautiful and well-kept. The location is superb; nearby everything in the city, but out in a nice neighborhood where you can clearly see the stars at night. The pool suite was the perfect size for a quick weekend getaway; large bathroom and cozy with personal touches from the owner. Had all the essentials and plenty of towels for use at the pool. There is a great book with tons of recommendations from a local’s perspective; we enjoyed every restaurant we tried and the nearby trails made for amazing walks. Speaking of owner, she is really great. Helpful, kind, and super responsive, she made our stay an even better one when we were able to add on one of their packages at the last minute while there. From the start, we were promptly greeted and felt so welcomed from our host. They were attentive, generous, and made sure to make our stay so special with special accommodations for my wife's birthday. The surroundings, the environment, and overall vibe of our location was so peaceful. I definitely see us coming back here again and can't wait to show this to my children.
