Birch Lake RV Park — Hotel in Babbitt

The owners are very nice. ||||We (family of 4 with daughters 9 & 8) were camping with our 33' travel trailer for the first time. The site was easy to back into on our maiden voyage. The site was surrounded by trees on three sides, so although you could see your neighbors they weren't "sharing" your site. The site has water, electric, & sewer connections all right together and strategically placed on the site where it made sense. Even with our trailer & slide out, we still had plenty of room for the supplied picnic table and the fire circle was far enough away from our 15' extended awning & the trees!||||The bathrooms are newer, well maintained & clean.||||The camp ground is right off the paved bike trail and public boat launch. If you need to rent a boat, Timber Bay is about 5 minutes away with motor boats & pontoons.||||The camp ground is mostly seasonal or permanent sites owned by senior citizens, but everyone is very nice and friendly. Nice looking park! BUT the women running it was over the top bad news. We pulled in and had to create a login to stay, not the end of the world. But time consuming. Next morning we returned from breakfast and a meeting to be greeted by her as I got out of car at 10:40 AM. She was visibly upset. She was upset we had parked parallel in our 4 runner never touching the grass as she had instructed the day before. I stayed we were mot on the grass sand never was. She proceeded to tell me i needed to park straight in. I said ok. 5 min. Go by we are breaking down, she demands 20.00 for being late getting out it's not 11:00am yet!. I instructed my wife not to pay it as we were ready to go. What a bloody terrible place to stay. Never ever again. We travel extensively and have never been treated...
