Bayside Cabins and Resort — Hotel in Backus

Amazing stay until my daughter started having more and more bites on her. It turned out she had picked up bed bugs on the sleeper sofa. This turned a great trip into a huge ordeal. We told the staff and they brought us a can of Lysol and said that they sprayed between each visit. I know lysol will kill a bed bug, but that is not how to get it fixed. We had to do the overwhelming amount of work to bag all of our stuff which they did supply the trash bags to do that. Then we had to decontaminate everything including us and our car before we could safely enter our home. We thankfully did not come home with a lasting experience. There was no apology or attempt to make it right. I hope no one had to experience the horror of bed bugs after their stay. We stayed in White Pine cabin. We happened upon these lakeside cabins by happenstance during an up and back biking trip on the Paul Bunyan Trail. We were winging it as far as accommodations since we also had camping gear with us. A last minute phone call to a very accommodating owner made for a happy night with a warm shower, hot meal, cold beer and soft bed possible. The cabins are right off the trail so super convenient. It's been such a wonderful stay, how we ended up here still has me confused but here we are just enjoying it. Managed to pull together a Thanksgiving dinner and have been in the cabin going on day 5.
