Come Friday Cottages on the Bay — Hotel in Bacliff

We stayed in the Saltwater Gypsy (the two-bedroom unit) for three nights whilst touring Texas for the eclipse. Come Friday Cottages was the perfect location for a couple of days unwinding amongst our packed itinerary. It's also ideally located for a visit to Houston Space Center, which was on our bucket list to visit.||The unit itself is really funky and quirky, and I loved that it had its own character. It was really good to have a separate Wifi per unit as well, which was ideal for us non-Americans who can't use the mobile networks. The cottage was clean and comfortable too and although I had my reservations about the bed being too soft, I managed three good nights of sleep!||Angel, the maintenance man, was very friendly and welcoming and even offered to loan his fishing rods in case we fancied a go on the dock. The position on the bay was lovely and made for some relaxing and calming evenings.||Overall it was much more fun than staying in a boring, non-descript white box and if I'm ever back in the area I wouldn't hesitate...

We stayed at Come Friday Cottages for the first time last week. The stay was very positive in every way. Location: the location was perfect for all of the activities we planned in Kemah, S. Houston and Galveston. Cottage & Comforts: our cottage, the Tejas, was "vintage eclectic" with updates. The unit was clean (that's a biggie for me) and we had everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable for me - I slept better than I do at home. (It was a little soft for my hubby.) The bed linens were nice and soft. Property: We were about 90 steps from the water, which was easy to reach on a path through a tropical garden. We spent every spare moment on the pier, fishing and just breathing. It was pure serenity, especially at sunrise and sunset. We caught a lot of fish, catch & release, but a fish cleaning station is available on the pier for those who want to keep.
