The Bailey Lodge is where it's at!!!! Firstly -and most of all- the people running this place are top flight, first class, A+++ Legit. I was in a horrific situation hitch hiking (@night) on 285 with literally ONLY a cell phone on me, and was [randomly yet fortunately] brought here for a place to stay for the night. At 9 o'clock at night they were so welcoming and accommodating; even turning on the heat in my room and putting my name on the door...all from a hard to compute phone call due to poor mountain cell reception, and I hadn't even given any sort of payment info yet! Also, b/c all my stuff was stolen, they were able to take payment for the room via a relative over the phone. Scott & Misty(š¤i hope i got the names right!) know hospitality like no other hotel/motel I've been to. And are some of the most genuine down to earth people...they surely are both in the right business! (Which you can't even come close to saying about ~75% of the ppl working and running these places). The next day while still trying to find a ride down the mountains, they went out of their way to find (and give me for keeps) a cell phone charger and even fed me from their personal food!!!!! Misty was literally doing everything she could to help try and find MEE a ride. It's pretty unbelievable the lengths and effort they went thru to help me out in each and every way I needed...no matter how big or small....and while still doing their regular duties!!!!!! I would stay here a million times over(& hope to under more relaxation vacation type circumstances). ...now about the spot: The location is BEAUTIFUL. You look out your room to a mountain landscape that feels as still & stunning as a painting. Even tho you are in/near small mountain town, Bailey, there is not much of a "town center." However there do seem to be things to do nearby, like an outdoor high ropes adventure course. There are hiking trails right from the grounds and even a stocked fishing pond (catch-&-release) on site. All of this -incl. places to eat nearby- is all in a handy notebook in your room. The room and bed were clean and comfortable. Even had a FIREPLACE for the winter (BYOW, lol)!!!!! Had a microwave and fridge. It was very spacious, which if you are up there to do outdoor activities with lots of gear etc, you won't feel like you are cramped at all. If you haven't understood the fatuation that place and those two people have in my heart....well, then IDK what you've been reading! Lol All in All, if you need or want a place to stay in that general area, there is not a single other place I'd pick instead ..even if they offered...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI cannot tell you how relaxing and beautiful this lodge is/will be! It is under new management and is being beautifully renovated yet it is still super quiet and gorgeous. We stayed in the Bird and Flower room and it was amazing! Fireplace, kitchen, usb charging stations, just super modern and inviting! We sat out on the porch and watched the hummingbirds and the geese and squirrels and the world go by in peace and relaxation. The flowers are so vibrant and beautiful to look at and Scott, the owner is such a wonderful man!! My boyfriend and I are even talking about buying the restaurant next to the lodge. The pool was immaculate and the pond has fish jumping and Osprey fishing. I am a travel agent for AAA Colorado and I will be recommending Bailey Lodge to many visitors. It's great for a weekend close getaway and we have already decided that this will be our anniversary spot. If your out on 285 heading to Bailey, I suggest you stop in and see it and say hello...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were in a bind. Our car got stuck out by Wellington Lake in the afternoon. After being unsuccessful at getting it out; myself, my wife, 4 year old son, and infant son were able to get a ride to Bailey, where we were going lodging place to place looking for a room as the winter night fell upon us. Bailey lodging had 1 place left. Misty and Scott knew we were in a bind and got us all settled in. Being that we were just driving around, we had minimal extra food so we ordered a pizza from 258 Pizza and Misty was generous enough to go pick up our dinner for us because we had no car. She has a heart of gold and her and Scott were very kind to me and my family. The room was very decent size with 2 big beds and bathroom with very warm water and a little kitchen. Iāll never forget the kindness they showed and will likely return this spring just because of...
