We have been visiting this area of Tennessee, and this campground for years. The owners, The Clouser family, have made a great number of improvements to the property since purchasing it and becoming a KOA campground. Some of these would include a completely refurbished bath house and laundry, installation of a salt-water pool, fenced dog park, playground, and new rental cabins. The campground, which is easily reached from about 1.5 miles off I-81, is on dozens of acres of open fields, wooded areas, with surrounding hills and mountains, along with 3 stocked ponds and miles of adjacent walking and hiking trails. The grounds are kept immaculately landscaped, and the facilities are spotless. The sites are level, nicely spaced with full hook-ups...free WIFI is available, and are long enough to accomodate any RV. There are also tent camping sites available. The owners/staff...Karen, Bob, Steve and Chris, are very helpfull and friendly, often going out of their way to help in whatever capacity.....helping you back your RV into a site, picking up your propane tank for a refill, or recommending a local attraction or restaurant. In summation, I would highly recommend Baileyton KOA, close enough to any bigger attractions in the area, but still a quiet piece of eastern Tennessee....we consider it like a home, and hate when we...
Read moreThis is the second time this has been a stop for us along the way to somewhere else, but come summer, we’re going to make sure we have a few days in our travels just to come stay here and enjoy this beautiful campground to its fullest. This KOA is very nice, quiet and clean! The jewels of this KOA are the owners and staff. Staffer’s Tammy and Richard have been extremely nice to us, and helpful in any way they possibly could. We’ve been here during this awful weather system called Elliot…temps dropping to zero, and brutal below zero wind chills. They understandably had to shut off water to the sites due to the well below freezing temperatures, but they worked hard even on Christmas Eve and Day to make sure everyone had propane and we all were safe and warm. The bathrooms were kept super clean and warm through the whole thing. We were supposed to leave Saturday but decided to stay until Tuesday just to get past the brunt of this cold. We felt safe here…just no need to travel if we didn’t have to, and we had no idea what the next camp ground would be like. Finding campgrounds with owners and staff that actually care about their campers are few and far between. Thank you Baileyton KOA for making us feel welcome and safe during a very...
Read moreWe can not say enough about our stay here! 🥰 From the moment we called Tammy to make reservations we were flabbergasted! She was an absolute doll! And once we arrived we were lucky enough to meet the rest of the staff who were just as phenomenal! It was like being in the company of family from the moment we arrived! And they were just amazing with our older son (who has slightly different needs ☺️)..Happily accepting his hugs and even giving him rides around the grounds on the peddle cars! 🥹 They came around frequently to check on us and make sure we were settling in and comfortable! And everyone was eager to offer ideas of local attractions our crew would enjoy! ☺️ It is evident that this fantastic group of people cares so much for the campground and it’s visitors. The property is litter free and beautifully kept and all of the facilities (including the laundry room, showers, pool house etc) are spotless and fresh! We can not wait to come back to Baileyton KOA! Thank...
