Good and bad review here. Great place to camp, everything was good for the site it's self. We would go back. Make sure you have a power surge on your RV, as the power fluctuates. We were not happy with the dogs of other campers. On that I'd give a zero rating. At the entrance to the park a sign is posted No Barking Dogs Allowed. On one side we had 2 big dogs who barked with any vehicle, person, wind went by, the owners sat right beside them and never tried to stop them. On the other side there was 4 big dogs that got into a fight, the men didn't try to stop them, they sat and watched, the women had to finally stop the dogs. The dogs barked throughout the day. Behind us there was 3 sites that each had 2-3 dogs each, they were big dogs and little yapper dogs barking. We didn't go to the mountains to listen to sounds of a kennel. A group of teens at the site behind us was allowed to have a party with loud music, high pitched loud blood curdling screaming, causing the dogs to bark. The bass was so loud and pounding into our RV it made my headache. It started around 7pm and went on for 4 hours till we went to camp host who said, "Thank you for saying something cause until someone speaks up we can't do anything." We've never heard of a policy like that before, in other campgrounds the host maintains the rules so everyone can have a good experience. For these reasons our stay was not a...
Read moreThe nice campground itself is located on the banks of Phillips Lake near scenic Sumpter, Oregon. Spaces are mostly open and or spacious with lots of tree cover if you want that. I agree with another review that it would be more appreciated for some, if there was at least one shower house. In August there were plenty of camps host in the park. The company facilitating these said hosts was Anthony Lakes Resort. While the hosts try to accommodate park guests nicely and easily, the newly posted rules for acquiring a site are not quite so nice and easy. Some hosts are much more pleasant than others. The terminology of the rules doesn't seem to mesh with how some of the hosts run the campground. It can be confusing to say the least. For a non profit company the campsite fees are fairly expensive. All in all the campground and boat ramp facilities are pleasant. There is a lovely shoreline trail. I'm told it goes all the way...
Read moreBooked reservation via recreation.gov. Booked group camp site D which has more privacy than the other group sites as it sits on the outer edge of the campground. Has flushable tiolets nearby but no showers. There are grey water dump sites within the camping loops but none at this group site. Campground hosts were incredibly kind and brought out wood bundle for $6 and ice bag for $3. Campsite has plenty of picnic tables, bbq, and firepits Water available No electric Group sites are really meant for tents and as all trailers had to set up in parking lot that is located right next to site Lake level is low which means no easy access to it but do have to walk down to enter Boat launch was closed to low lake Only open May to Sept Pretty much the entire campground had good...
