We stayed at the Indian Mound house in June 2017 while vacationing at Lost Maples state natural area. While this is not your 5-star resort, it was excellently equipped and relatively modern. The house is quite a ways of the main road and backs up to the Sabinal river where we were able to wade in crystal clear water and build a rock dam and whirlpool. A herd of deer frequented the pasture in front of the house each evening. The house had fire pits up near the back porch as well as down by the river. One of the best amenities along with the air conditioning was the clothes washer and dryer. There is no internet service except for an AT&T wireless extender. As Sprint customers we had no service for three days (not necessarily a bad thing).

Beautiful! Foxfire cabins, what can I say - the property is absolutely gorgeous 😍 We stayed in the main cabin, and it was just like being at home. Everything you needed was there. The main cabin is decorated beautifully, warm, and welcoming. The main house has a fully fenced yard, fire pit, bbq pit, and pkenty of seating. The porch was great for our morning and evening bird watching. So relaxing! The river was steps away. The water was refreshing, and we got to interact with the frogs, turtles, and fish as we floated around. They have several smaller cabins that are so cozy and cute. Also, they had a playscape for kids. I look forward to an annual visit to Foxfire Cabins.

This cabin was the perfect getaway for our staycation. It has everything we needed for our week stay and the surroundings were relaxing and tranquil. I would highly recommend a stay here if your looking to head to the Texas Hill Country. It's also close to 2 major state parks as well as other interesting attractions. Update: Stayed here for a second year and we weren't disappointed. Such a wonderful and peaceful place to getaway and unwind. The cabins are fully equipped with just about everyone you need and the staff are friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this place.

We truly enjoyed our stay here over Presidents' Day weekend. I wanted a fenced in yard for my dog, so we chose the Main House and it was so comfortable. It's 3 bedroom, 2 bath, so a little large for 2 people but since their base rates are based on 2 people it worked well for us. I wish more places did that. The cabin was clean and very well stocked, we lacked for nothing as far as kitchen needs, towels, pillows, etc. The master bed was very comfortable. The fenced in yard was huge, my dog loved it and the fence was secure. I didn't have to worry about her getting out. You can buy firewood from them, very reasonably, we enjoyed the fire pit and indoor fireplace. ||We would definitely stay here again. No big negatives really - but it could use more lamps (and matching bulbs) and it's a little close to the road, so when you are on the porch you hear some road noise, but inside the cabin we couldn't hear it at all. And the road is not very busy. No cell service (Verizon or AT&T) but they have WiFi and it reached our cabin and they have a courtesy phone which was great because I had to check on my elderly mother multiple times. ||||We visited Lost Maples, Garner and Leaky. The Leaky Mercantile is a good place for groceries. And we liked the Bent Rim Grill for burgers with a view. I've never seen stars at night as bright as they are in Vanderpool Texas. Met a couple of the staff and the woman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to return and stay in the Main House again. This is a...

Looking for a ladies GLAMPING TRIP, called several rentals in the area. Then I called this place and began to explain to Patty about what we needed. She was the nicest of people. She recommended the Woodlands due to location and size. It was everything she said and more. Spacious, clean, well stocked with all your needs. The wrap around porch with the beautiful view. The firepit was down a slight slope but worth every effort to get ther and enjoy. The lay out was perfect for the ladies with the bathroom upstairs and down no one felt crowded . The decor was warm, cozy and welcoming. I will coming back. They do have many lodging options available that would fit any of your needs. 2 other homes w very different lay outs, also several smaller cabins for smaller groups. The billing process was straightforward and accurate. Be prepared no tv, no cell phone, but this house did have wi fi which was great for us. They also have firewood you can purchase. They donot have a store close by. There is a LITTLE country store that stocks the very basic. So bring your basic needs. No restaurants, so bring you meals and snacks. Enjoy every moment of your stay we did and can't wait to stay again. Thank You Ms Patty you are the best...
