For a two day quick get away wit the family (3 adults and 2 children (11 and 9), it was perfect. We rented a cabin, which was perfect for our small group. Nice, clean, furnished, central air/heat, hot water, full kitchen and large bathroom. Our timing was not great as we booked ahead of time in front of a historic flood, so there was debris all along the shoreline. The boat ramps and many of the areas the kids would have been able to swim were not available at the time, but you could see it would have been a very nice set up if it were not for the flooding. We did find a nice place to fish that was clean and where the kids could kayak for the day. The fishing was super, we caught 28 small bass in a four hour period the first afternoon but the next day we only caught 10ish. They were small, 1 to 2lbs but the lake had been almost completely dry for many years due to drought. (they restocked the lake last summer with babies that are growing). Overall, this was a nice place and we look forward to going back once the shores are clear. It had a small pool for the kids to swim at the clubhouse. The grounds were well maintained and the owners/staff were nice and helpful. This to know - Not all the docks are property of the facility. Some are private to a few fishing camp houses that are on the north side of the RV camp. Ask before you go out on any docks if they are public or not. Bring extra towels, pillows and blankets if renting a cabin as there are not any extra if needed. The walks from the cabin to the lake area is long as the cabins are at the top of the property. Next time we will take bikes for the kids. A small grocery store in Lakehills is 5 min away which is helpful for last minute things as well as a Dollar General and Hardware store. Makes it easier to buy there and not pack prior to the trip. Overall, we recommend this place to families looking for a quiet get away. It is not a super fancy five star type of resort but it def makes you feel...
Read moreFirst time visiting this RV park and I can truly say we had an awesome experience!!! Just less than an hour away from NW San Antonio. Be prepared to go through some hills with ur Rigs!!! I suggest calling the park for recommended alternate routes if u have a large Rig. We have a 43.5 ft long 13.5 ft height 5th wheel toy haul that barely made it under the arch at the entrance. When we called they suggested taking the longer route which was approx. A 5min difference. Come to find out the original direction based on GPS, we found along the way there was low power lines. Not sure if we would’ve made it but we weren’t willing to take the chance. (We had to leave the park for more groceries for the extended stay which was only 15min away.)Greg & Gina took us on a tour of the ranch and introduced us to their cows, horses, deer, and other wildlife that roam free on their land. Also we got to see hidden new found spring fed spots and they gave us a history lesson that me and my family enjoyed listening to. Genuine hospitality and a place we can trust. I have a niece with T1D that was running low and Gina was determined to get us back down the high hills of their property in a UTV. (I called it the Gina Express lol!) I wasn’t too worried as they both are 1st responder. We enjoyed our stay so much that we ended up turning our 3 day stay to a 6 day stay. 😬 RV park was real clean, maintained well, and spaced out well enough. The Lake was a site to behold at sunset. And the color was tranquil. I used to come to Medina a long time ago and I don’t remember the water being...an aqua shade? Thought it was more along green/brown back then. Lol! Took a boat ride and kayaks out. The pool and hot tub was enjoyable. Clean bathrooms with showers too. We will definitely be coming back in the near future!!! Hope this helps other...

Leaving the branch took an antenna off. Pulled over in a church parking lot to retrieve the pieces. This is not the fault of the campground. Just wanted to warn campers. Our height is 12’.
Check in was easy. Ranger recommended a FHU 50A site. It was perfect for our unit. 50A costs $3 per night. Site L11 had a concrete patio. The fire pit was overgrown with weeds as was the rest of the area.
Recreation was available abundantly. Trails to explore, putt-putt, basketball and all the other ball sports. The rec hall had most everything from books & puzzles to a pool table. I recommend driving to the rec center. This park has many kid/family friendly activities like movie night and candy bingo. Deer are everywhere. Please DO NOT feed the wildlife. It is not safe or healthy. We saw some annual residents lure the deer to their site with feed. They had over 30 deer by our count in their RV site. The park has posted signs to not feed the deer. The park also has a large swimming pool and hot tub. We had to drive to the pool and rec area. This is a very large park.
The roads are very rough. Be sure to drive the 5mph speed limit and you will have no problem. The trees were being trimmed while we were there. My only issue is being next to a very messy permanent camper. Stuff and garbage everywhere. Hopefully I can post pictures.
But I do recommend...
