We arrived a day after it rained. I walked the dogs around our site and ended up with mud caked shoes and paws so our first impression was not good. This park opened a few months ago so there are a lot of unfinished spaces which is great when it’s dry. |Pros:|Paved streets|Easy access to and in the park|Friendly staff|About an hour from San Antonio, Fredericksburg & Gruene which are all fun |Sponsored table at Wednesday night cowboy bar BBQ in Bandera (fun!), one night there was a food truck and live music at the park |Room for 44’ 5th wheel, Ram & 4Runner on site 102|Package delivery allowed ||Cons:|One postage stamp size dog “park” with non-user friendly gate. It’s in a huge grassy area that could have accommodated two parks with double gates. |Mud, standing water even a couple days after it rains|Pool isn’t heated|No fitness room|No hot tub|The pool area has lots of very bright prison type lighting on all night so if you like sleeping with your window & blinds open don’t book a site near there.|Music from the bike rally down the road could be heard until 2:30am |No welcome package (maps, events, etc)|Sites are individually owned so even though park was less than 10% full somebody was always next to us |One trash receptacle by office, no pickup |Expensive for what you get ||We stayed 10 nights in our 44’ 5th wheel paid about $90/night. I think our site 102 is the best because it’s big, has a fire pit area and as of now one side is undeveloped so you’ll have space. The Bandera area has a very low bar for campgrounds so in hindsight I wish we had stayed in Fredericksburg or another area where there is more to see and better park selection. We paid a lot and the amenities there (cold pool, store, indoor pickleball courts without border nets) are ones we don’t use. The developer of this park seemed to spend as little money as possible (example tiny dog park). Some sites are already up for resale. ||Tip: if you have dogs, go to the river side of the park where there is grass and trash cans/bags. We only learned about this after driving over there. Don’t exercise your dog in the green space next to the main building due to holes...
Read moreWe booked our trip in 2024. Had to cancel for medical reasons. They would not refund our money but gave us credit for another stay. We booked or attempted to book another stay. Corporate stated they couldn’t find our credit with a lot of excuses. Finally they found it. We booked and still had a 200$ plus credit. Kaitlyn at corporate stated to use the credit at the resort. What a joke. On what???? The manager at the resort says they don’t do that. Ok I understand. The manager at the resort has gone above and beyond to help us get our credit money refunded but hasn’t happened as of checkout this am. Corporate has zero cares about customer service which is very important in the “hospitality “ industry. Corporate doesn’t give customer service and to this point has lied and stole our money. We are still working on this part. |As far as the resort, it is awesome. It’s new and|Can use some tweaking but they are working on it. The employees on site are awesome with great customer service unlike the corporate office. If you get your reservations made and can get through the corporate reservations dept etc and get to the resort itself you will be happy. My suggestion is pay attention to what you are booking as far as the site. Ask questions about the amenities at your rv site and make sure….:absolutely sure what you are getting. Corporate will not give details because they don’t know. They are in South Carolina or some place and have no clue. It’s not the onsite employees fault. Awesome stay awesome on site employees....
Read moreBeware of policies and procedures! We visited this park several months ago for the day and thought this would be a good place to being our rv and vacation. So, when it came time to make a decision to evacuate with my 90-year-old mother from hurricane Beryl we felt that the tiny homes would be a good safe place for her and ourselves especially since the storm was headed to our hometown. When I made the reservation, we had n9o idea what was ahead of us so I booked for two days. After the storm passed and we knew we had maj9or damage and need to to return home but had only stayed one night we went by the office to check out and try to get a refund for our second night. We were told that they could not do that so we asked for an exception since we were not there as a vacation but running from a natural disaster. We were told that they would have to talk to corporate. I got a call today informing me that there would NOT be a refund for our second night. On top of this the cabin by husband and I stayed in the hot water didn't work and the toilet would not flush after minimal use. We reported that but still no help with refund. Bottom line we felt we were taken advantage of during a very devastating time that so many of us are going through here in south Texas. Just hoping the folks at corporate that make these decisions never have to go through what we are going through. In this storm area we are seeing many acts of kindness and compassion but at Riverwalk RV dont expect...
