Beautiful large RV sites with good spacing. Large open area in the center of the loop. Healthy grass. I am here at 7 PM Friday after Memorial Day and most sites are empty. I suppose most Minnesota campers are going to a lake. There is a small lake park across the street. Easy access to the campground from the freeway. A little freeway noise but not bad. Large clean bathrooms. Only minus is after paying the campground fee the showers are coin operated. We will stay a couple of nights to relax after crossing Montana and North Dakota. Easy reservation through Reserve America. No campground host or any office of any kind. We just made our reservation on line the previous day, arrived and set up. We would come back here again. Edit: showers are $1.00, needs 4 quarters. Good, long shower but way too hot. Wife says the same in the women's showers. I imagine they set the temperature when they first opened for the season while the cold water was very cold. Now the cold water is warmer and not enough to cool the hot water. Hopefully they will fix that soon. Also after 24 hours here still no sign of any park host or management. A city police car drove through once in the afternoon. They likely are watching the campground at night too when I would not observe them. Still highly...
Read moreWe have been staying there for the month of July for 7 years now. This year the city has added more RV sites and there is a host, which was awesome. Thanks Greg for keeping up the campground. There are a lot of construction workers staying and more seasonal people. For us it's a great place to stay as we use the Fargo VA and then go to Fergus falls for Dr appts. We did notice a few people staying that were homeless and their sites were littered and the kids would run amok all day. No campground etiquette was taught to the kids. The bathrooms we don't use but there are showers as well. There are many sites for tents as well but with no hook ups. Alot of overnight travelers coming thru. There are picnic tables and a fire pit but both are for two sites as the sites are door to door. You can ask the host to bring another picnic table over. The host has a big garden and had shared some cucumbers with us. Great little perk. It's a great small town campground. We hope it doesn't turn into a seasonal as we have seen in other small towns and you can't get into anymore for overnights or short periods. Good job...
Read moreAccess to the campground is convenient, just a short distance off I-94. The site was easily located and well maintained. The size of the sites is very generous. Access into and out of the sites is easy. Even after heavy rain the grass covered site was stable. I used my jack pads to be sure. The town of Barnesville is a short walk from the campground and hosts good food and delightful people. The neighbors were warm and friendly as seems to be ubiquitous in Minnesota. We had to book another day at the campground because we spent so much time socializing. The bathrooms and showers are conveniently located and well maintained. The grounds in this park are well groomed. The Internet access is pay to play, and I can't comment on the quality of that service. We utilized our mobile hotspots from AT&T and Verizon to obtain Internet access. The Eagle cafe and Purple Goose restaurant are...
