Pocono Plateau Camp & Retreat — Hotel in Barrett Township

We alerted the director at the Pocono Plateau Camp that an outside group called Greater Grace church, who reserved the camp for two weeks this summer, was recently named in a long investigation for systemic child sex abuse within their church and in their camp by camp workers and church leaders. We advised that the reserved dates by this church be canceled, for the safety of the children. Unfortunately, and for reasons unknown, the Pocono Plateau Camp made the decision to allow this group to hold their two weeks of summer camp at this location. As a parent of former campers of Camp Life (the organization in question), I have deep concerns and I wish wholeheartedly that the Pocono Camp organizers would have made a different decision. Pocono Plateau hosted our church group of family, friends and our kids. As a parent who brought my child to this camp, I couldn’t be more grateful for Carmen and her team. They were well trained, attentive, super friendly and noticeably cared for our group, as well as, another outside group. They had procedures in place that provided a safe and enjoyable environment for us and our kids. Meal times are well organized, food always fresh, tasty and accommodating to dietary needs and restrictions. Fun lake, nights on the porch by the fireplace, clean accommodations, outstanding staff, what’s not to love! Highly recommend and looking forward to being back. Thanks Pocono...

All three of our children (Ages 14, 12 & 5) attended their first week of Pocono Plateau Camp. Our two older boys enjoyed the overnight experience (one in the Youth Camp & one in the Above & Beyond Adventure Camp). Our youngest (daughter) did the daily drop-off day camp. At pick-up yesterday they were oozing excitement for the most incredible week they had. They created genuine connections with the counselors, amazing new friendships and embraced the challenge of being away from home.
