Lakeview Cabins — Hotel in Barton

My husband and I were very disappointed with these vacation cabins. We were traveling from out of State and we rented a 2 bedroom cabin. Some of our other family who live in the area came by to visit with us. There was no room for another vehicle to park next to the cabin, the size of the yards next to the cabins are very small. The only picnic table next to the cabin is small. My family brought their children who played in the lake which was across the street of a very busy hwy. The owners were upset and stated that the children were too loud. The children were playing in the lake and being children. We were told that additional guests were not allowed to stay at the cabin which we agreed with however the owner's decided to come by our cabin and ask the family members to leave and stated that we were too loud. This was not the case, everyone was playing across the street. We think that these cabins are not family friendly. So if you decide to rent, be aware that this setting is more for senior citizens. The owners were unprofessional and rude to us and we decided to leave the next day instead of staying another...

We left yesterday and already miss "our" little cabin and the beautiful lake! The cabin was super clean, we have some food issues and a serious food allergy, so even though they provide kitchen utensils and pots and pans, we brought our own, we always do when we travel, and I have to say the things stocked in their kitchen were cleaner than any I have seen in little cabins like this, I even used one of their knives, which I almost never do! So very clean. We were there on a very quite week, we almost had the whole grounds to ourselves, but the people we did interact with were very nice and it was a great environment, we had the fire pit to ourselves 2 nights in a row. We loved the dock and the swimming, only down side is for light sleepers, the cars do make quite a bit of noise when driving by, that has nothing to do with the owners, just something to keep in mind, I might bring a white noise machine if I knew. So peaceful and unbelievably quiet, barely any bugs, cabins are well maintained, full furnished with a full kitchen with stove,fridge,some dishes,pots and pans,toaster,regular coffee pot and bathroom with a shower stall. We had a 2 bedroom cabin and it fit all 6 of us so they're pretty good size,comfortable beds and website offers more details. They have a septic system so PLEASE bring some and they have Charcoal grills at every cabin. Good space between each cabin for children to play between beach trips which is private, extremely clean, crystal clear water directly across the street, and a portapotty next to beach incase of an emergency. So much I could say about this lovely place, we will be making this our yearly summer vacation spot. There are many hidden gems and lovely mom's and pop's restaurants and shops all within a half hour or less.
