Probably a somewhat unfair review assessment sure what we really expect. If you’re looking for rustic, this place is for you.The cabin was rather small and my only real complaint was the shower being very cramped. I think it’s a good choice for someone looking for something on the rustic side Sort of our intent but maybe not that much. Overall it was clean and had great coffee in the room. It was a great place for families as they had fire pits a pool that was clean .hammocks between trees and benches everywhere. There was even a sandpit for kids to play in. There’s a stream that runs along side the hotel and the trout pictured I caught in the stream. It is a tough time for that as water levels were low and I’m sure the fishing is probably much better when water levels are up a little. The town is only 1.4 miles away so while you have a trout stream and some peace and quiet you’re not far away from getting necessities. check in and check out was rather easy. Like I said in the beginning my rating may not be fair because we are kind of spoiled by bigger hotels but it would be a great place if you know what to expect

Very very bad experience. I booked room on call mentioned them its 4 adult and still they gave us motel room which can hardly fit one people. I am pretty sure its vermont fire violation as well with type and size of property it was. So after driving for 6 hours u reach the property to wait another 2 hours outside waiting for property manager to come in to resolve room issue. So manager offered us option o getting cabin only for 1 night. as they were sold out for next days. So we were like sure. Refund us back for the motel nights and we are olay to pay for the cottage. But later they denied. They charger me for motel and cottage for same night where I DID NOT EVEN STAY!! I am being double charged by the peoperty folks for same day. Please avoid staying here. VERY VRRY BAD EXPERIENCE

This place was perfect for me! I was traveling alone on a kayaking trip and the cabin I had was the perfect size for a single person (or two people who don’t mind being super cozy lol) the WiFi was not working at the time but honestly it just added to the “off the grid” vibe - it was not missed. The sound and view of the river from my cabin was awesome and I was impressed to find that my room had a hair dryer and a toaster oven as well! Definitely came in handy. I can see how this might not be the place for you if you’re super high maintenance but if you need a cozy, clean, and convenient place to stay this is the perfect spot.

My family knew the long time original owner of this place. Her name was Karen, and she had the cabins and grounds in top condition. We stayed there many times, and had fond memories of her place and her friendly demeanor. A year ago we got nostalgic, and trekked up from Cape Cod with our border collie. Upon arrival we found the cabins stripped of air conditioners, the hot water didn't work, and the cabin was dirty with cobwebs. The couch was dirty, sunken in by age. What irked us the most, was that other guests staying in the motel portion by the road, were welfare people that had tremendous problems. One elderly woman in particular, would load up herself with several dogs into a old van, drive down to the cabin area, and sit in front of our cabin all day. Her dogs barked constantly at us everytime we walked by our screen door. At over 100.00 a night, coupled with the general disrepair of this place from its glory days...We vowed never to stay here again. Upon our return home, I wrote a marginal review on Facebook, with these above concerns. I never received a reply until a year later!!! Four weeks ago, a person by the name of Terri Anne Merchant, made some foolish comments on my Facebook review, insinuating that I was indifferent to people less well off. When I'm paying decent money for 3 nights lodging, you bet I'm pissed to have to tolerate this stuff. I believe Terri Anne Merchant, worked as a caretaker here. Why my late review here over a year later? My wife just got an email from this place, stating that the management has changed? Has it? If not....Never Again! Karen is rolling...

It is a cute place with a litlle river nearby. The cabins are nice and well equipped. The road nearby is a bit noisy. It is not the silence of the country. We have reserved for 2 nights. The first morning, we have been waking up at 6h00 AM by a man screaming and yelling during one hour, having a problem to stay up and taking a shower under the falls near the cabins. He looks quite intoxicated. The day before when we have arrived, we have noticed that guy, standing outside a room near the registration desk with 3 other guys. There were a lot of empty beer cans outside their room. Also, it look that they were familiars with the managers/owners. For that reason, we have decided not to argue with them and we left in the evening, even if we have already paid for the second night. I wrote to the owners and here are their answers. Those guys were not there when we arrived, but working, (ok I have hallucinations). The guy who was yelling was not intoxicated, but searching his cell phone in the falls. If we have heard him it is when he passed in front of my cabin, because it was not possible for us to hear him from the falls because they tested it. And if I my English was not so bad, they could understand me. That place in not recommendable and the owners are not professional at all, asking your opinion by mail after your visit, but they do not want to heard it. Yous must see the way they...

will start with the few positives. The location is pretty convenient and the room was pristinely tidy.

That's where the good ends. Please read on because you do NOT want to stay here especially if you have children.

First, I was told there was wifi. And there is! but I had to ask for the password - why wasn't it with the papers given to me? And however, if you are in one of the far two end cabins, the wifi WILL NOT reach you. You will need to walk out several cabins to reconnect and then stay lucky if you get reconnected. There was another wifi network but I could not connect to it as I was not given the password. In an area with poor reception this meant I regularly had no way to communicate with my family.

Second - the privacy felt terrible. Our cabin had two windows, one in the main room and one in the bathroom. The bathroom window had NO CURTAIN so I was left to put a towel over it for privacy. The main room curtain was paper thin and see through so I also put a towel over that at night...

Thirdly - and most alarmingly - the maintenence guys regularly seemed to be drinking. We chatted at one point and he was nice enough however he told me that several people in the front part of the motel stay for free and that one of them is a S*X OFFENDER WHO WAS CHARGED WITH TOUCHING HIS DAUGHTER. DO NOT STAY HERE ESPECIALLY...
