Bodine Field campground was the perfect camping stop before heading down to Cape May for vacation. Make sure you reserve a site on the park's website beforehand. This particular campground had a bit of a bumpy dirt road drive to get to it, so be conscious of your vehicles' abilities. The pit toilet was fairly clean and I liked the distance between campsites. There was a bit of trash in the firepit when I arrived and the fire pit looked like it was run over. But! I simply took the trash with me when I left and notified the park staff about the firepit and they informed maintenance would take care of it. Read morePine barrens campground. It’s about a mile off the paved road, on a hard-packed sand road. Regular cars can get there without 4wd but stay off the sides or you’ll get stuck. Campsites are well-marked and the creek is right off the side of the parking lot. Kids can play in the shallow sides of the creek and it’s navigable by canoe or kayak (there is a slow-moving current). The lake for fishing is back at the turnoff for the sand road but you can walk there from the campground. There are several one-seater pit toilets scattered throughout the campground (BYO toilet paper) and a pump spigot for drinking water. Area was clean and well-kept but there isn’t much ground cover to provide privacy between campsites since this is the...
Read moreWas staying in the campsite until now. I left 2 days early due to the group that came in last night. Someone took a dump by the beach 20 yards from 2 different outdoor latrines. Also a group of people were playing a drum and tambourine late into the night and then allowed the kids to wake up the camp at 6am. Hearing people from another country banging drums and trashing the site is bad enough but as a veteran trying to honor the fallen on memorial day weekend I took it extremely insulting to...
