We were initially staying from Thursday night until tues over father’s day weekend. We stayed on the field section where more of the transients stay. It was very nice and private, even when there was 4 other campsites being used. It was close to the bathrooms. I will say that the bathrooms in the field sections were very tiny and you kinda need to leave the stall door open when you do go but it’s private and very clean so it’s not too bad. Speaking of bathrooms, If you have holding tanks in your camper they will come by on site for 15$ to empty them so you don’t have to go to the dump station which is awesome . I have never seen this service offered at any other campsites, and we have been camping lol. Most sites have water, electric, cable with many good channels with an actual cable box and internet tho it is spotty but usable but we have been told they are upgrading it.
Then we went to leave to go fly back home and unfortunately the flight cancelled and other circumstances occurred so we came back to stay after a night in a motel. Camping here was way better so we can back. This time we spent 2 nights in a lakefront site during the week which was wide open and an easy pull through campsite. It was site 310, corner on the lake. The lake had very few bugs when we were there, the field had more flies but to be expected camping in pine barrens. Unfortunately for our third night that site was taken and they very easily and had no problem switching us to another site which is actually right by the main bathrooms. The main bathroom stalls were bigger than the field but equally as clean. The showers were not bad for camping showers. It had hot water and good pressure, you just had to hold the button while showering. I will say the shower stream needs to be adjusted slight but we can deal, don’t forget it’s a camper shower lol. There is even a washer and dryer on site that you can pay to use .
The seasonal people are very nice and welcoming here. The lake is very pretty and they have kayaks and canoes you can rent .
We loved it so much that we are looking to come back for the 4th of July. When we went to leave the first time it was booked then but put ourselves in a waiting list. When we went to leave the second time, they informed us a site has opened up. We will be putting a deposit down and will be coming back. This is our campground of choice
Thank you so much for an awesome time Nicki and Dave (the black...

We stayed about 28 days at Timberline, our site had electric and water (sewer sites extra), there is a common sewer station in the back of the campground which is free. One huge plus is the campground honors the Passport America rate for up to 30 days, even on weekends (no holidays)! This campground does get busy during the summer season especially on weekends but there is a good amount of space between you and your neighbors especially in the field sites area. We were lucky to have site #5 for 2 weeks and then moved to site #1, each had nice trees to provide shade and privacy. The campground facilities were always kept clean and there was a small trailer that had a few toilet stalls and sinks right by the field sites which was very convenient. Lake, pool is very nice but does get busy on weekends. The shower house is about a 5-10 minute walk from the field sites, there are 4 shower stalls in the womens section. The campground plans family activities on weekends and they have a nice little store with supplies at reasonable prices. There is a Walmart 15 minutes away in Little Egg Harbor and access to Wharton State Forest is about 8 miles away from...
Read moreWanted to share a great review of Timberline Lake Camping Resort. This was our first time there. This is a sandy campground. My son is a wheelchair user and his chair did really well in the sand. My husband even took it off roading on the paths between the lake and through the woods. It is an absolutely beautiful, mostly seasonal site campground. Everyone was super kind and welcoming to our family. I don't think I've ever met a group of nicer, friendly and outgoing people. The office staff were wonderful. From an accessibility standpoint, the campground was easy to navigate and there was handicapped parking at the lake. We did not acess the pool area so I can't speak of that. The only true disappointment is that the rec hall is not acessible. This is very disappointing for a disabled child because he would not have been able to participate in activities. This wasn't a concern this trip as we had our own plans and activities. But it would have been really disappointing to miss out on something he wanted to do because he couldn't get into the a frame. A ramp would be a great addition. Everyone can enjoy an acessible entrance, but not everyone can enjoy a non acessible entrance. Overall, we had a...
