Ardor Wood Farm — Hotel in Bastrop

My husband and I spent the 4th of July holiday in this unique and outstanding place. We were looking for some adventure and relaxing activities at the same time. The place is a 30 minutes driving from the McKinney Falls State Park. Our host Graham recommended us this place that was a gem. As soon as we were in the farm we felt a complete peace sorrounding by only nature sounds. The cottage is perfect. Its design allows it to camouflage with the landscape. Inside, this place is full of exclusive details, beautiful linens and towels, full bathroom and a very comfortable queen size bed. The view is breathtaking because of the glass sliding wall. Our host invited us to learn about the fantastic goats and long horns that has in the farm. The next day I had the furtune to practice some meditation and yoga with the sunrise, surrounded by a whole deer family. Ardor Wood was a slice of heaven. It is extremely remote but also 30 mins away from Bastrop (which makes breakfast trips doable.) Not only is it one of the most beautiful properties I've seen, but Graham was super kind and helpful! We stayed at the Butterfly Cottage which was adorable and had the most beautiful front yard - we got to see armadillos, Indian Blackbucks and Barbados sheep. If you've had enough alone time, you can go back to the front where you'll find the cutest goats, turkeys, ducks and chicken. You might also get to meet Graham's two aussies - Finn and Aoifa! This place will always hold a special place in my heart, as my (now) Fiancé proposed to me in the Labyrinth.

One of the best get-a-ways I’ve had in a long time! My boyfriend and I wanted to take a mini vay-k and we’re so happy to have found Ardor Wood Farm! The owners are so friendly and welcoming, and they have so much knowledge about the land and animals. You are truly secluded which was perfect given the pandemic we’re all currently experiencing. We stayed in the Butterfly Cabin and it was magical. The photos give it no justice. Oh and playing with the baby goats was just what we needed to de-stress.
