This is a small privative campground (pit toilets, no showers, no hookups). While it was fairly quiet, there was some road noise during the day. There were a lot of people driving through the campground. It was a bit unnerving. It turns out that a least a few of them were looking for a trailhead that was mismarked as starting in the campground (it actually started about a quarter mile up the road). Most sites were private with plenty of trees between. The stream was very low due to the drought, so it may have been a little nicer if it wasn't so dry. I felt like this campground wasn't particularly special, but an ok place to spend a few days relaxing or as a base camp to go hiking in the quiet part of the White Mountain...
Read moreIf you want the best rustic camping experience, Hastings is the place. Hosts Mike and Linda are so helpful and knowledgeable about the area. I have been going to Hasting for 30 years and just recently in late July 2015. The campground was In the best condition ever and the primitive toilets were the cleanest I have experienced. Read moreEnd of June. 2022, 1st visit to this wonderful campground. Our site was perfect for two tents. There was a nice size picnic table. Good shelter with the trees (site #9). Enjoyed our proximity to the outhouses. Nice area to just walk around. Our host Tom was friendly, helpful and did an amazing job. And ending each evening with a fire in the pit was the perfect end...
