A Slice of Ozark Heaven: Our Stay at The Ridge Resort while celebrating my Mother's birthday.

We recently escaped the bustle of Houston for a weekend retreat at The Ridge Resort in Marcella, Arkansas—and it was everything we hoped for and more. Nestled deep in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, this cozy cabin getaway offered us a front-row seat to the breathtaking beauty of the White River. From the moment we pulled onto the property, a sense of peace settled in. The views alone felt like a destination.

Inside the Cabin The cabin itself was a masterclass in comfort and charm. Vaulted wood-paneled ceilings and warm lighting created a welcoming glow, while plush leather seating and soft blankets made it easy to settle in. Every corner was thoughtfully furnished, with artistic touches that gave the space character and warmth. The full kitchen and dining areas were perfect for family meals, and no matter where you stood, the view was always spectacular.

Outside Your Door The screened porch overlooking the river became our favorite spot—especially at sunrise, when the reflections danced across the water. Towering trees framed the shoreline, offering a quiet backdrop for morning coffee or evening wind-downs. Our grandson was thrilled to discover an archery area, and we loved how The Ridge offered something for everyone.

Hospitality That Feels Like Home One of the highlights of our stay was meeting Dana, the property manager and owner, and her wonderful family. From the start, they made us feel genuinely welcome—like old friends returning home. Dana went above and beyond to help us get oriented, offering thoughtful recommendations on local spots to explore, and all the fun things to do at The Ridge Resort itself. Her warmth and attentiveness added a personal touch that made our experience even more memorable.

I visited the ridge for two nights as my first solo trip to relax and unwind and I was not disappointed. Words cannot begin to describe the kind of peace and tranquility that I felt when I was there but I’ll try. I stayed in cabin 3 and did not want to leave lol. It was roomy but cozy at the same time and beautifully decorated. I enjoyed having my morning coffee on the screened porch watching the sun come up and listening to the waterfall beside my cabin. The “outhouse” was another favorite place for me to unwind and sing at the top of my lungs lol. Floating in the pool and looking up at the sky was just what I needed. The owners were so sweet and made sure I felt welcome and had everything that I needed and more for my visit. I’m not a nature loving person but I found myself feeling sad when it was time for me to leave. I had apprehensions being by myself but I felt safe my entire visit. I’m so glad that I chose this place to be my first experience traveling alone. I can’t wait to go back and explore more it has to offer with my family next time. This is the perfect...

The Ridge is BEAUTIFUL! We stayed in cabin #2 which has a private hot tub. It over looked the River and had close, easy access to the pool, waterfalls, and main house. It was incredibly well kept. Dana, the owner, was kind and extremely helpful! My 13 year old daughter and I were the only ones traveling there and had a blast! We felt very safe and were able to enjoy the area without concern.
