Its nice and better then camping but cannot say its a luxury retreat as tent were way hot till late night. They do provide cooler and fan which won't make any difference as the outsdie temperature is hot, it does work in night and helps tent get cool faster.
Drive : We drove from Maryland and drive was very scenic as we entered WV.
Place/Tent : we were group of 6 couples with almost 7 to 8 kids. Everyone got their booking done way before depending on 2 full-size bed or king size bed in tent. We rented Seneca with 2 full bed next to each other for us and and our 2 kid. Not every tent is closer to bathroom so make sure you drive to bathroom as slope is crazy and will make you tired if you are far on top. Tent came with cooler and fan which was useful at night, and also with grill and sitting area with umbrella which was good. They also provided few chairs around fireplace outside every tent.
Bathroom : bathroom was very clean and is located at the entrance, seperate for M and W with all things you require like shower gel, towel, shampoo. Its not close to every tent so if you wanna use bathroom make sure you sure your car to drive back and forth or else if you have kids make sure you carry portable potty seat.
Common cooking area : its located next to bathroom and have 2 grill and lot of sitting location with game like corn hole and also common fireplace to sit around with many chairs for bigger group.
Service : service was very good they would be available whenever you need from morning 7am to 9pm unless its emergency. They also came and changed our cooler station and charger station which was almost about to finish, and also switched on fireplace for us. Definitely good service.
Check-In/Out : Check in was very easy, they would have everything ready in your tent and once you arrive they would let you know which tent you need to go. Check out they say its 10 am but online it says 11am which was unusual. But they let us check out at 10.30am.
Place has lot to offer around the area but we stayed only for a day so did not explore much. Overall worth visiting the place for...
Read moreWe went in the late fall and it was absolutely beautiful! The tents were spacious, the blankets were super warm when it was 20 out one night, and the bathroom was really nice! All the employees we met were so friendly which really made it a nice stay! There is a USB type box to charge your phone and things but no outlets! You can rent a heater with propane for $30 or so a night, but it does fumigate you a bit in your tent, so if you’re cold natured, maybe go in the warmer months! There’s also a refrigerated cooler there, we didn’t use it because it was so cold out, but that’s so nice to have too.
Everything was clean and looked really well maintained, I’m hoping it stays that way, especially for the price!! It is a steep price, especially when you can get a hotel for a lot less and have the convenience of an indoor bathroom and much more space as well as normally an included breakfast and stuff!
A couple things that made it not a 5 star, the walk to the bathrooms, oh my gosh, it’s a hike! We ended up driving down most times, especially in the middle of the night! It’s nice not having it in view of the tents, but a closer option for the tents in the back would be a huge help because that was rough! Also I was sad most of the string lights were burnt out around the tent, out of 30-something bulbs, only 5-6 of ours worked :( That was sad and definitely took away a lot of the light at our camp site! We had a fire-ban when we went, so the additional lights would have been a big help, plus it just adds to the ambiance! It’s also not the quietest camp ground, noise carries so easily and we could hear the people around us. Also, even though there’s not many, you could hear all the cars on the road driving past :(
Also recommend bringing something to sit your food and stuff on in the tent (a tray table or something) there’s not a lot of space to lay stuff on and it gets cluttered easily! It’s also super hard to find from the road at night, just a small wooden sign that’s not lit up at all to show you where to go, so just be careful, we pulled into a dead end and had to back the...
Read moreA Much-Needed Escape: Our Glamping Experience at Firefly Ridge Luxury Resort
This year we skipped our annual vacation—life got too busy running two businesses. We needed something close, low-effort, and relaxing. When we saw a post from the owner of Firefly Ridge Luxury Resort, we knew it could be the perfect reset. And it truly was.
What We Loved: • Location: Just 1,45- 2 hours from Leesbrug, with peaceful, scenic views that instantly slowed us down. • Pet-Friendly: Our Frenchie, Nala, was right at home. She had space to roam, fresh air, and plenty of dog-friendly vibes. • Glamping Setup: Spacious, beautifully styled tents with everything we needed. Each tent sits on a raised deck with outdoor seating. Bathrooms and showers are separate but a short walk away and spotless. There’s also a shared area with grills and picnic tables—great for cooking or connecting with others. • Food: There are local dining spots nearby, but we packed two coolers and cooked all our meals ourselves. We love cooking, and it made the stay even more personal and fun. • Things to Do: Hiking, kayaking, swimming, fishing, horseback riding—plus Berkeley Springs is just 10 minutes away. • Host Experience: Peter the owner, was awesome—responsive and genuinely cares about his guests.
Things to Know Before You Go: • There’s no cell service at the tents, which we actually loved. We were all in for a phone detox—until we found out there’s Wi-Fi. It’s great for those who need it, but we secretly wished there wasn’t any at all. • The resort is family-friendly, so if you’re looking for more privacy (or traveling with a dog), request a more secluded tent like we did. Peter kindly moved us to a quieter spot, and it made a big difference. • All the info is online—definitely give it a quick read before you go so you know what to expect. ⸻ Final Thought: This wasn’t just a stay—it was a much-needed pause. If you’re craving quiet, comfort, and a nearby reset without much planning, Firefly Ridge might be exactly what you need. — at Firefly Ridge...
