My mother lives in Ida Grove and we are from Indiana. We were looking for a bed and breakfast close by to her. We came across this quaint B&B last year. The owner, Lynne took us for a tour and we told her our whole family would be there; up to 10 people. We booked the whole house for 7 days, and we had 8 people. My sister had the "Rose" room, my son had the "Gold" room, my granddaughters had the "Teal" room, my husband and I had the "Blue" room, and my Cousin had the "Maid's room. Each room had it's own bathroom and each room was decorated according to it's name. It was nice when you woke up in the morning, there was coffee waiting outside our rooms. Then downstairs to Lynne awaiting with more coffee and a breakfast fit for a Queen and King! I am on a special diet so she made me what I needed and had wonderful breakfasts for everyone else. The house was beautifully decorated Victorian with beautiful antique furniture. I especially loved the Rose Room decorated with roses in the drapes, roses on the lamp, bedspread and accents. The Gold room was fit for a King with a beautiful antique headboard, and the blue room has a king size bed and beautiful antiques. We would play different games in the evening, then we would sit out on the beautiful front porch in the evening and it was so very relaxing and peaceful. We have already booked our vacation to see my mother for next year and can't wait to go back. Thank you Lynne and Neil so very much for our hospitality and friendship. You have become...
Read moreMy +1 and I stayed Saturday night this past weekend at the Inn at Battle Creek. Seeing the Bed & Breakfast in person is even MORE impressive than the photos and descriptions you see online! |We were pleasantly pleased and impressed! Dreamy Victorian/country decor and design. It's spacious and has a neat history! -Interesting use of closets to create bathrooms too!||Lynne made us feel at home. She welcomed us at the door upon arrival, gave us a tour, we visited a little, then she gave us our privacy to enjoy.||We had a loosely-planned schedule that took us to Ida Grove for wine tasting, a terrific meal, sight seeing and some hiking. |In the evening, we made a point to spend time on the porch at the B&B to sip some wine in some pleasant June weather. It was relaxing! Lynne, knowing these plans from our conversation upon arrival, was so thoughtful and left out two wine glasses along with a corkscrew to open our bottle of wine that evening. ||Breakfast on Sunday morning was delicious and delightful at a table next to paned windows overlooking the side yard. ||We couldn't have been happier! We now have an amazing memory that we will share and tell for years to come! We think the price was very affordable! In fact, we plan to come back in the fall. We highly recommend the Inn at...
Read moreOur wine club had it's monthly meeting at the Inn at Battle Creek on Sunday, February 14. The dinner was excellent (different cuts of steak, tilapia, or chicken with baked potato, corn casserole, green beans, lettuce salad and roll), the service was perfect, and everyone enjoyed themselves. We had never stayed at a B&B so decided to cross that off our bucket list, and only one other couple decided to stay overnight. We reserved our rooms ahead of time, but once looking at each of the 5 rooms (each with their own bathroom), we were happy with ours and the other couple wanted a different one. Lynne (one of the owners of the Inn) told them to take whichever room they wanted. When she and her crew were done cleaning up after our dinner and meeting, they left after telling us the house was ours for the night and they would be back at about 8 in the morning. When we made our way downstairs in the morning, she was waiting with coffee and juice and when we were ready, she made our breakfast to our specifications, which included homemade cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, eggs, hashbrowns, bacon or sausage, toast or pancakes. What an...
