Finally went to a race here while on vacation with the family. I grew up going to tracks in Iowa and now live in southern MN and have gone to pretty much every track down here more times than I can count. Most tracks down here are USRA so I was excited to see some good IMCA action. Unfortunately that was not the case. I will start off with the facilities which look nice coming in. Convenient having your concessions right there. I didn't try the food, but it didn't look like anything special. The grandstand seats were wide but could definitely use an upgrade. We wanted to sit in the middle but had to move multiple times to a position that we could see the entire track. The best spot I could find still had a majority of turn 3 obstructed by this large tree house they called a flag stand. Definitely the biggest I have ever seen in my life. Now to the racing, I have never in my life been to the races with so many cautions, in EVERY race. They don't help get the cars relined back up, I think it was just a trust system to get guys back in line? There was no rhyme or reason for much of it. A guy would spin out, then get his spot back. Then a guy would spin out and cause a wreck, then he gets his spot back and the guy that ran into him goes to the back?? I asked a few people about it and they didn't really have an answer. Back to the cautions. You know its sad when even the announcer once yelled COME ON after another caution. It took 2 laps too many to get back to every green flag then. I did get the chance to speak to a few locals and the flag guy and they did say it has become worse lately with the dry slick track. Apparently guys cant figure it out. The car count was like 65 total. That was it. They had 6 whole stock cars....yeah, 6. I was told a lot of guys were going to other tracks with better pay outs. The numbers for mods weren't much better. We didn't even stay for their feature as it was 11:30 and I am pretty sure my one and only time getting my youngest daughter to a race now was sick of watching this, along with the rest, including myself. Needless to say my hi hopes were sadly crushed and will not be going back. I can only offer some advice of going to some other tracks and watch how things are done elsewhere to make it...
Read moreFirst of all I enjoy the racing here reason for the extra star I will return, however I found huge pointers I dislike. A. Last nights sport compact heat race was horrible caution was called way too late cause no one pays attention there for cars are getting damaged. The cautions are the biggest issue I have it’s a huge problem with it because the cautions are being called way to late as stated above because nobody is paying attention which is dangerous and costing people money on there cars being damaged. Otherwise great facility they just need to work more on safety of the racers, big name or not everyone’s there to have fun not get killed and get there cars damaged due to the race announcer or flagged not paying attention to people spinning out...
Read moreThis is probably the worst track in Minnesota when it comes to cleanliness, promoters, owner, safety, all this track is about is the car count and how much money he can make, he don't care if there's problems on the track, he just wants his money, the concessions building is horrendous, disgusting, and dirty. It's not kid-friendly, they are very unorganized, Intermission most of the time they don't do anything, it's just getting more and more expensive, there's much better tracks here in Minnesota besides North Central Speedway and Princeton Speedway, just my...
