Found Horton Creek Inn during a search for places to stay for a little get away for my husband and I. Horton Creek sits on 50 secluded acres in Charlevoix but is closer to Boyne City. The home is ADA accessible, have a ramp for those who cannot navigate stairs and also having a room on the main floor to stay in. All rooms are decorated by theme. We stayed in the Bear room which is the only room that does not have its own bathroom, however it is not shared with anyone else but those who occupy the Bear room. This log home has wonderfully landscaped gardens, along with a large pool. Breakfast is offered daily and is of course cooked in house. Breakfast was delicious with fresh locally sourced ingredients. Seconds are also offered. Coffee was the perfect strength. Desserts such as cake is offered every evening to munch on. If you are ever in “this neck of the woods” and wish to have a quiet weekend away, shopping the local stores, and enjoying the weather and what Michigan Lakeshores have to offer, I highly recommend! Additionally as a visually impaired individual I did not have any issue navigating the home or the spaces within the home. If you are using a cane for vision, an escort would be recommended. Read moreHorton Creek Inn Is an outstanding bed and breakfast. The owners are very hospitable and accommodating. The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated, and very clean. We had a wonderful night sleep on a comfortable bed in a quiet room. The bedding, linens, and towels are of high quality. There is a sitting room with books, games, and a tv (we never turned the tv as who would want to waste the cozy atmosphere). We hope to stay again in the fall to enjoy the fireplace in the room and sitting room.
The grounds have numerous flower beds, hiking trails, in-ground heated swimming pool (pool floats and life jackets), and a bon fire pit. A gourmet breakfast is served each morning in a tree top sunroom with views of the gardens. If you are a bird watcher like us, you will be thrilled to see Humming Birds, Finches, … up close through the windows as you enjoy your delicious breakfast, coffee, tea, and juice.
There are many more special touches, but I won’t spoil the surprises. Make sure to leave time to read a book in one of the big cozy chairs inside, sit pool side, or enjoy being outside in a chair swing for two. Treat yourself to this wonderful inn to enjoy nature...
Read moreHorton Creek B&B is truly excellent! A wonderful place to spend the weekend if you're in the Charlevoix/Boyne City area. Jeannie and Dave, the hosts of this establishment, are really on top of the ball. They take great pride in running Horton Creek, and it really shows. They are super friendly people, and go out of their way to make sure every aspect of your stay is enjoyable.
We stayed here for two nights for an anniversary weekend, and loved everything about this place. Our room, which was the deer room was clean and cozy. Plenty of toiletries and towels. The outdoor pool was very nice- great view of the forest, and it was heated!
Jeannie cooked a gourmet breakfast each morning, which was really delicious, and had a fancy presentation as well! This is far and away the best breakfast I've ever had in a B&B. She also served desserts in the evening.
What more can I say... Thank you for making our anniversary truly memorable, and we will...
