MONT CARPE DEIM...
I will begin by saying that once we entered the main entrance to their spectacular home we were warmly welcome by Xiomara, Yohandra , Pedro, & Zeus their awesome dog. A welcome drink cocktail “MOJITO” with Yohandra’s special touch of natural spices and personal touch. That was the moment I learned that this place was not just any place, we had found paradise. During drinking our excellent mojito a nice conversation with the 3 of them followed, it was like we had just arrived to a family member’s home that we haven’t seen for some time. Just kind of touching bases. They made us feel we were in another place, not in Puerto Rico.
Time to go to our room came..that was the moment of truth. Just at the door entrance an umbrella. You might ask your self why I even mention the umbrella? Remember we have traveled and stayed in many many places where it rains a lot. Other places instead of prodiving you with a cape or an umbrella they either don’t even inform you might need one, don’t recommend you should bring one or if your lucky they might advise you to bring one in case it’s needed. Mont CARPE DEIM had it there ready for us in case we needed it. Opened the door and there was background music and a wonderful smell I can’t really describe. All I can say is that it was REALLY GOOD! Talk about presentation? They knock it out of the park! We were mesmerized, all we could do was take a video and record it, because we thought we were not going to be able to describe to our friends & family how amazing this place was. The best way I can explain it is by saying that EVERYTHING you see in this house is placed with intention, class and meaning. Comfortable, pure clean, great space, good taste, ideal, a million dollar view...just amazing.
Good night sleep? The best we have ever had EVER! The room temperature was set by Pedro and we have not needed to adjust once. Just perfect. Simple the best.
Breakfast is included in the rate of our stay and like everything else, it was just amazing. A small detail I do want to mention is that the food they serve here is all organic and NOTHING like Puerto Rican typical food that can be really unhealthy for us. Yohandra took the time to ask us what we like and don’t like. I happened to be recuperating from a Bariatric surgery and it requires a very healthy oriented diet and choices of foods. She understood it & accommodated us around that situation. Lunch & dinner is available for an extra charge but I will say that the price do not compare to any nice PR restaurant, they will cooked just for you at the moment, freshly made and 100% organic. Just Amazing!
Mont CARPE DIEM is by far the best place we have stayed. If you are looking for a paradise away from home to relax, rest and unwind from the busy crazy every day life we all have, this is the place for you to come and detox!
PS: We have left so many little details out but this is because we don’t want to spoiled the many other surprises they have for you. We will say that Xiomara, Yohandra & Pedro are real warm people. They really have a passion in hosting and know how to do it just right. They have that ease to make you feel welcome into their home and make you feel home. We can easily say we have 3 new for ever friends.
Gracias Xiomara, Yohandra y...
Read moreOk, so how much time do you have to read? I will give you the short review in case you don't have time to read. RUN, don't walk to Mont Carpe Diem. If I could I would give this wonderful place 10 STARS!!!! First of all, you are only 35 minutes from San Juan so if I told you you were headed deep into a tropical jungle in Bayamon you would say I was crazy. Driving towards the "hotel" the road is well paved and clean, it's easy to follow Google driving directions there. Pull up to the beautiful manicured entrance and you will be greeted by Yoandra or Pedro and brought up to their main house, a beautiful open room with super high ceilings, a center fireplace, dinning room and living room with beautiful art and art pieces many painted or created by Pedro, who is obviously extremely talented. There is a large terrace with views of the city down below. Yoandra (amazing hostess) and her mother Xiomara welcome you with a delicious and original Cuban Mojito. Afterwards you are driven in their four wheel vehicle to your cabin through the most beautifully and naturally landscaped forest roads. It's like Disney World for adults. Once in the cabin (the one we stayed in) you are instantly transported to another world, the scent of lemongrass and soothing spa background music welcomes you into your own tropical oasis. The room is exquisite, thick white bedding, flowers from the forest adorn the room, the shower is to die for and the terrace is unreal. Totally surrounded by 20' Australian tree ferns, huge varieties of gingers with their beautiful distinct flowers, orchids and ferns. There are peacocks strutting about which enhance the feeling of being in a far away place. Yoandra's son "Ema" short for Emmanuel will cook the most delicious dinners for you (on request). Breakfast is amazing and served in their huge deck with unreal views. It is nice and cool as it is considerably higher than San Juan so ladies bring a sweater. There are surprises at every corner. We went to see, but did not stay in their A frame cabin overlooking the pond. It's off grid but with all the amenities you may want. The outdoor shower and bathroom are super unique. In short, we loved our stay and are already planning our return. Next time, we are going to order the "Cuban Feast" which we did not order this time but saw someone else enjoying! Almost forgot, they make killer drinks, and have an assortment of wines and Champagne. Honestly I could go on but I know you probably already booked you stay!! Thank you Yoandra, Xiomara, Emmanuel and Pedro for an...
Read moreThe experience Pedro and Yohandra have created will exceed any expectations you’ll have. As I entered, I really did not know what to expect. My eyes, mind, and thoughts were going in multiple directions. As I settled in, I started to realize the creativity and tranquility of a clear mind. As a captain, on the sea, I’m at peace when I’m on the water. I feel in tune with nature in its beauty, in its glory, and in its anger when it chooses. Yet through all of it, I have a peace of mind that I have control of certain things while also having absolutely no control at all. Your mind is open, your heart is open, and you’re living life. Pedro and Yohandra have created this same peace in the mountains of Puerto Rico. As you walk the property of Mont Carpe Diem, you see very quickly there is a vision however, it’s a vision that has no ending and adjusts with nature. Put your phone away, close your laptop, forget where you came from and enjoy the peace. Enjoy your spouse, enjoy the silence, enjoy the weather, enjoy the activity. You will go there not knowing what to expect and you will leave feeling refreshed and alive. You will leave with a new vigor and zest for life. You will leave apprehensive because you’ve found your youth again. Words cannot describe this experience. Also, through Yohandra and her son Emanuel, your appetite and taste palette for food will have you not wanting to leave the table. I love food and a delicious meal but, yet again, I’ve never realized how delicious food can be. In closing, everyone’s experience, in Mont Carpe Diem, will differ yet will also be similar. The great part is, you can sit with Pedro, drink a Budweiser, and talk. Or, you can sip champagne with Yohandra and her mother and talk. Then at dusk, sit back and enjoy a glass of wine. All of this, while living an experience you’ll...
