Got three stars for the best part of the entire trip which were the restroom and showers as they are actually clean and the showers are individual and have a toilet with each one but that's not every bathroom Just the wash house. Other then that it was 12 dollars a bale of hay to soak up the lake of a camping area that we got which was two sites next to each other took like 7 bales...... Not sure where the grills are so bring your own because we had the hardest time cooking out due to having to use a fire ring provided at the site by the campground.. bring your own wood because the wood sold there is expensive and you will go through it super quick. It's like 8 pieces of wood with an inch of wood with the bark on it. missing the actual wood middle so it looks like a lot but burns super fast as most of it is bark. I understand the ladies at the front gate have a job to do but we caught a lot of attitude upon entry and so did the others that attended with us. 2 cars per site but they were trying not to let one of our cars come in because of who actually knows..... We were given tickets to mark our car that have the date and time on it to PROVIDE PROOF we are supposed to be there we grabbed the wrong ticket yes I acknowledge but either way it showed our campsite and the days there and the checkout date and time and the lady still hassled us about entry when we came back from the boat rental which I'll be leaving a review on their page too. Super nice campground nice and clean but for the reasons listed above I couldn't give it any more then 3 stars. Maybe I'll try again there in the future but an hour and a half drive away from my house and there were more negatives then positives to say for us tent dwellers at least... The people with campers might have a different Outlook then us tent dwellers so I'm speaking for those of us flooded in our tents and not able to use our entire site not those who have...
Read moreWe stayed at Mosquito Lake for 2 nights while visiting the area. Our site #49 was very easy to back into and very level which was nice. The surrounding ground was a bit muddy but they do sell straw at the camp store that you can spread around - since it's on a lake it can be a bit wet and marshy. Campground itself was really pretty, very woodsy and nicely paved throughout which made going walking or running very enjoyable. Sites were spacious and spread out. We were on the full hookup loop, but if you want a waterfront site they have some nice electric ones to choose from including 2 yurts which looked really cool. Shower house was fairly new and each shower had its own separate room with tons of privacy. (at least in our loop). Camp store had firewood and friendly staff. We would stay again if we are...
Read moreWe went on a holiday weekend so it was crowded and lots of traffic, but that is to be expected. The restrooms were an odd mix, a few vaulted ones with no water, one shower house with 4 out of 6 separate rooms working, and 1 air conditioned restroom with stall type toilets and sinks with running water. We were next to the shower house so often there was a line to use this as this is a huge campground and to only have 4 showers is disappointing. There are full hook-up sites, but we have a popup with no bathroom so we depend on the campground facilities. Our site did not have enough shade or vegetative sepraration for our liking and was too close to the bright restroom lights that stay on all night. We have stayed at other state parks that do this a little better. We had fun at the playground and...
