Spirit of the Badlands — Hotel in Belfield

I took my boys for a hiking trip at Teddy Roosevelt national park. I needed a place that could house 5 of us. When I looked around in Medora I found that I would need two hotel rooms. Spirit of the Badlands proved to be a much better value than that and easily had room for all five of us. The location overlooks the Dakota national grasslands and it feels like you are living at the National Park. If you are looking for a quiet getaway and some healing or rejuvenating, this is the place. For one, it sits atop one of the most spectacular canyons in the North Dakota Badlands. You won’t even need to go to the national park to experience the beauty and wonder of the area. There are plenty of views to see and hikes to take around the cabin itself. We were so happy to find this place. The location of Spirit of the Badlands is amazing with absolutely beautiful views of the landscape. Also, a great base for exploring Theodore Roosevelt National Park, which was very close by. The location, though, made it feel as if we were in the park at all times. The host, Roger, was very helpful in reaching out and suggesting things to do, and also he was wonderful in helping us with an unexpected car problem that arose while there.
