While the hotel itself was fine, a traumatic experience for myself and my partner is what caused me to give this hotel a 1 and I would probably give it a 0 if I could. We had been embarking on a cross country drive as we were moving to the west coast and were looking forward to relaxing & unwinding after spending 12 hours in the car driving through a snow storm in Wyoming. After we unpacked our car & the pets that we had along with us, my partner went to take out our dog on her long lead so she would have the chance to stretch out her legs after being in the car for so long. At some point our dog managed to get something in her mouth as she was walking around the perimeter of the building when my partner noticed that it was a small rodent. Unfortunately she managed to swallow it before we could get it from her. After that occurrence we went back out to look around where she got it to see if there was any evidence of what she got into. Our hearts dropped to our stomach to find that she found something next to a rat poison box. We ended up having to rush her to the local emergency animal hospital where we later learned that she would be okay (thank god) but the experience as a whole was incredibly traumatic as you can imagine.
When we got back to the hotel I went to walk the perimeter to see the box for myself when I noticed there was another one by the stairwell entrance we were using. I then went on to find a total of 8 rat poison boxes around the perimeter of the facility. For a hotel that not only is labeled as pet friendly, but also advertises walkable areas for dogs just to have poison traps littered around the facility is grossly unacceptable. Many of these boxes were placed directly next to doors which provides a perfect opportunity for your beloved pet to snatch something on accident if you have even a moment's lapse in attention when taking them out to go to the bathroom.
If you value the safety of your pets & the peace of mind that something like this won't happen to you DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. The negligence to use something so potentially dangerous to animals if ingested while also touting itself as pet friendly is beyond...
Read moreDuring my stay, I encountered several issues that significantly impacted my experience.
The thermostat in the room was not functioning properly. When I reported the issue, the front desk provided a box fan and assured me that a maintenance request would be submitted for the following day, as I would be out of the room for 12 hours. Unfortunately, the thermostat was still not repaired the next day, and I was informed that no work order had been submitted. Another front desk staff member then said they would follow up with maintenance. The issue was eventually addressed, but even after the repair, the lowest temperature setting available was 64°F, which was not ideal.
At check-in, I was not given the three breakfast vouchers included with my stay. I had to return to the front desk the next day to request them.
Additionally, we dined at the hotel’s restaurant on our final night, and the service was disappointing. The bartender did not greet us or provide menus, as he appeared to be preoccupied watching a game on television with another employee or guest. I had to retrieve menus myself. While he did check on us once after serving our meals, he spent most of the time at the front desk computer conversing with other staff members. Ultimately, my husband had to get up to request the bill so we could pay. The lack of attentiveness and professionalism was very discouraging.
I was also disappointed to find that the property did not have a jacuzzi, which I had assumed was available. Admittedly, I did not verify this detail in the photos beforehand. The pool was also quite cold and not very inviting.
There were visible maintenance concerns with the exterior of the building as well. The front entrance appeared to be in disrepair, with multiple wooden planks supporting what looked to be a damaged or unstable awning.
Overall, I was very excited to stay at this new hotel, having watched its construction during frequent visits to the area. Unfortunately, my experience fell well short of my expectations. In the future, I would prefer to stay at a more established...
Read moreIf I could have given zero stars I would have. Never been so disappointed by a National hotel chain. I travel a lot for work and this was ridiculous. We only stayed for one night, checking in last Thursday for one night. We picked the hotel due to its close proximity to the airport and had a super early flight. Huge mistake. Despite the fact that I have a receipt showing the amount for one night, including tax was to be $161.41, it showed up on my credit card as $211. I immediately contacted the hotel and they said “it’s a $50 charge for incidentals…should be refunded in a few days”. Seriously? It has been nearly a week. Tomorrow is one week and it hasn’t been refunded. I contacted corporate holiday inn and they said their hands are tied…it’s up to the hotel but they will contact the manager and her contact me. The manager contacts me and says that it is my bank that takes so long…different banks can take 10 days to process a return. Does this woman really think I’m stupid? Wells Fargo doesn’t take 10 days to show a credit. I return stuff a few times a month to anywhere from Target, Walmart,Amazon and it shows up the same day. Quite frankly I have never once had a hotel charge my credit card for incidentals and tell me it will be refunded in a few days. I have had them say “we will hold your card on file for any incidentals” but to charge it without is ridiculous. Granted I typically stay at Hilton properties where customer satisfaction is taken seriously. If ever have a bad experience which has occurred once in 15 years they were very apologetic…refunded the night stay and gave me 10,000 honors points. If you stay here track your bill. Chances are very real they will charge you and never give you a credit…apparently hoping you won’t notice. Do not stay here unless you want to pay more than you should...
