I found this RV park online and I guess it was a KOA and is now a Good Sam park. Stayed for 2 nights last weekend. Park was nice and a staff member named Jim was very friendly and could not be more helpful. However, the other staff members hardly spoke to you. People in the park were friendly and came over and talked to us. Bathrooms and Showers are extremely clean. Park is quiet. One thing which seemed strange is they advertised a valentine's dinner on the board and said it was $5.00 per person but near the door of the dining room it said it was a private party and it seemed only the winter "over 55 guests" were there plus the park staff. Was going to try to stay there again HOWEVER on Monday when we left I asked about coming back and was told the manager is changing the park to 55 and older - I was surprised and said well that is not very nice. The lady in the office said that is what she has been told that the people who stay in the winter do not like the younger people in the park so they are changing. I said well does that mean us (we are 42 and 44) and she said yes they are changing to 55 and older to please those winter residents. To say the least I am disappointed, I feel that they are discriminating against younger people although not that much younger than 55 and families which is what camping is all about. The lady in the office said I could call in the summer to see if they will allow someone under 55 but she is not sure. I will not call because what they will allow us back there if they don't have anyone else there. There are other parks around I am sure that will welcome campers that are in their 40's or that have families and teenagers. Very disappointed to hear after a nice long weekend...
Read moreWe booked 3 winter months at this campground! People seemed very friendly and all was going well until they realized the site that was assigned to us since September was not ready. It had an electric issue.||So, they put us 'temporarily' in a spot we barely fit in. Also, when booking so far in advance, there is no real reason to not be ready for our arrival.. A temporary set-up for a motor home, is really not fun! We could only see this happening if we were not reserved already for 4 months!!||||This began our worry with the management at this park. The "new" manager Randy was not too worried about us being displaced on our arrival.......but we were.||||So we go to the temporary site and we couldn't plug in because there was a plug broken off already in the unit. They had 2 people come over and replace the electrical box, with one they took from another site!! They they just plugged us in!!!!! Well, the surge of electricity into an un-grounded box, caused an electrical fire inside our couch!!||||We had to run outside, once the black smoke started spilling out of our electronics cabinets. So, it not only fried our satellite unit and DVR but also fried our washer/dryer!!||||be careful trusting him with your equipment! We could never go back and of course, we were not giving them a "third" try to give us a nice place for set-up, to spend our winter months!||||O, and Randy, reneged on what he told us, which was to give us his insurance company information, as we headed to Fort Meyers to get an estimate of damages at an RV repair shop we were familiar with!||||So, Randy stiffed us - entirely!! Great manager - for himself. ...
Read moreWE MOVED AFTER 2 WEEKS!!!! The terrible power that was running on one leg burned up our RV washer, a 32" tv, and 2 Keurigs....The washer was almost $500 to fix, $250 to replace the tv, and $300 to replace each Keurig....It burned up the 2nd keurig after it was "fixed" and the "electrician" said to go ahead and turn everything on....POP!!! there went Keurig #2...Our power was out for 2 whole days while my Husband was having to work AND deal with the NON MANAGEMENT at this unkempt park, so we had to stay in a motel.. The owner offered absolutely NOTHING to help us out. Not another lot, a cabin, or to pay for ANYTHING!! The management is lazy and communicated nothing to us as to when the power would be fixed, and with us staying in a motel, we needed to know! Close to $1,500 it cost us to fix and replace our appliances and motel for 2 days.... I wouldn't stay at this park if it was the only one on the planet. They treated us as if we were there just to be abused by them. Update... My friend that also lived there was told by the management I couldn't come there to visit her because I gave them a bad review. A review that is 100% truthful and that they...
