This is a great "off the grid" camp ground. It's on a nice property in the everglades. Nothing around but farms and fields. Great trails to follow. You'll see lots of wildlife and old lemon tree around the property. It use to be a camp for troubled youth. You can see the old camp grounds or "camp ruins." They have a nice lodge that's open on the weekends. The food there is made in house. Prices are fair and selection is limited. Their bar had a Wii and pool table. They are limited in liquor and beer selection. Please understand, this place is a camp resort, not a fancy hotel. They are located in a far off, middle of the everglades area. So they are limited on being able to have a large selection. Some tips before visiting. Be sure to bring all your own supplier. All your toiletries, towels, blankets, pillows, sunscreen, bottled water, bug spray, long sleeve shirt, flash light, snacks and all your camping needs. They have a general store, but you're far away from a store, so you can't go run to the store to get something you need. There is a nice pool. They have a building with restrooms and shower stalls. The building is clean and well kept. There's also an outside shower for two. There are plenty of camp sights, with and without electrical hookup. They have a hand full of cabins to rent. Some cabins have a/c and others don't. There is also a barracks, that you share an area with other people. There's 3 large beds and lockers to store your stuff. The prices are very cheap, especially if you are renting a camping area. The staff there is super friendly. They are very helpful and answer all your questions. It's usually quiet, but they have special events throughout the year. Look on their website for special events and prices. Remember this is a mens only resort. They have women's weekend and all welcome weekends. This is a great place to visit for the weekend and get away from the city. I like going here when work and the world gets to me. I go here to just take a break...
Read moreI’ve been to a few gay campgrounds in our travels but Vitambi has a special place in my heart. At first I thought oh man this is far from everything! But if you’re well prepared you get to appreciate the beauty of the landscape there and more. They just opened the new Palm Forest RV sites and we were one of the first to occupy a site for part of our month long stay and it was wonderful seeing the new sites and getting to meet our new friends there. They really thought out the layout of the sites and I look forward to seeing the evolution of Palm Forest.
Vitambi has a beautiful lodge and bar and the vibe for their weekend events is really easy, fun and feels personal, as if you’ve known everyone for a long time.
Most important is how nice the staff is. Martin the owner really puts a personal touch and welcomes you with real caring. Rocket, Michael and Alfred at the bar are the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Carlos is super funny and feisty in a good way and George puts together games for the weekend events that are a little risqué yet fun and comfortable to play. At the lodge the cooks and wait staff are super nice and funny as well. EVERYONE on staff was really, really welcoming and huggable.
Also the guests were so easy to get to know and talk to with a smile and a chat. It was as if you were saying hello to lifelong friends.
I can’t say enough good things about Vitambi Springs and when I left after a month I was truly sad to go. I’ve made lifelong friends and I wish everyone there all the best until we meet again next season. Keep up...
Read moreIt’s a nice, secluded campground with very good amenities. Everything went smoothly. The check in was easy and the staff extremely friendly. He explained where our campsite was and asked us if we wanted to change locations to be closer to the pool area. We had a campsite that was complete with electricity and water, although most people that come here either come in their campers or stay in the little cabins. Each night we ate at their restaurant as well as lunch. The food was good and reasonably priced the wait staff was very friendly and you ordered via your phone and a QR code on the table, the bartender s name was rocket. He made a good drink and was also very friendly , on the outside of the bar. There was a screened in large patio where there was a gas fireplace. this was the one area where you were allowed to bring your dog . on Saturday night outdoors they had a nice bonfire. Bathrooms and shower were extremely clean with plenty of hot water. the pool look like it had been recently remodeled, the water was heated on the weekends, the steam room was warm. My very minor critique is that they could’ve used more new lounge chairs at the pool area. Also, you can order on your phone and the food will be delivered to the pool area . Other good things about the pool area were music played at an appropriate volume and good Wi-Fi. There are men weekends and I understand throughout the year, there are a few women’s weekends a good group of people go there and there are people that spend several weeks there, we enjoyed it very much and...
