I was here for the Natural Remedies Campout and it was a perfect venue for our group. The art installations give the place a very whimsical and imaginative vibe. The quarry itself is one of the best swimming holes I've been to in recent memory. Great temperature for mid-July, clean water, plenty of places to drop your towel and hang out, and only a short walk from the campsite. Town is only 15 minutes in either direction so you don't feel stranded.
Be aware: no sunscreens in the water, so you have to shower off before getting in, which means you have to be very intentional with your sun protection. Don't be like me and try to skip sunscreen, though. (Owwie.) Mosquitoes are an issue, so bring your spray and candles.
