Summers Mill Retreat and Conference Center — Hotel in Belton

Our Summers Mill event in June 2023 was one heaven of an experience. It was our niece’s grad and debut celebration. The main party venue has everything we needed including a kitchen where we cooked a few of the dishes. Tables and chairs are available. Sound/Projection system with two projectors is simple to operate. Setting up and decorating the party hall was a breeze.

The accommodation at the Big Bird Lodge is homey and cozy. Rooms are furnished beautifully. Even the way they folded the toilet paper is impressive. I wished now I took a picture of it. Truly the attention to details is fantastic.

Their chapel’s sacred ambiance is perfect for the Mass held as part of the celebration. Outside of the chapel are shady trees that beckoned us for a photo shoot.

They even had a goat-feeding station. Mr. Goat is friendly, sociable and hungry; he devoured the grass fed to him.

Staff are efficient, courteous, accommodating and attentive to client’s request. On weekends, a staff is on call and ready to troubleshoot if needed.

We have just returned from a two day stay at Happy Day's Lodge with a total of 9 friends. The Lodge was perfect for us, as each couple had a private bedroom and bathroom. The outside back deck is huge and comes with pretty night lights for the evening. We are a group of retired college friends and family and this spot was perfect for us to enjoy music, games, food and just good, clean family fun.||||The house was very clean and comfortable and the staff was a phone call away for anything we needed. A special shout out and thank-you to Katie and Bill for all their help and friendly advice. They could not have been nicer from arrival to departure.||||We had two delicious meals catered from MC3 catering (exclusive caterers for Summersmill) and had plenty of leftovers to eat on our last morning. This is one of the worst stays I have ever had, anywhere! I showed up after having my room booked for MORNTHS, and was told that the room I reserved was currently still occupied by one of the owners family members, so I was moved to a smaller suite with no compensation and was threatened with no refund at all if i canceled my stay. The room I was moved to smelled terrible and it was obvious that the sheets had mot been washed as there was still hair and odor on them. I could only stay one night out of the three I had planned because they wanted me to move rooms again! The management is horrible and extremely rude. And here's the kicker - if you have a problem with bugs this place is a nightmare. Ants, cockroaches, spiders, beetles, pill bugs, centipedes - all found alive in my room in one night. I couldn't sleep at all that night. The management was not receptive to any of my requests for help in dealing with the situation. I am never returning...
