I am only giving Eagle Ridge Resort 3 stars as I believe there is a lot of improvements needed. First impression was that the lawn needed to be mowed and there was a lot of boats and parts scattered near a shed. The next was getting a 36 ft camper through their narrow driveway and it was definitely not wide enough for 2 vehicles. We had 2 campers and they gave us a space way in the back. The camper spot was narrow and in order to accommodate my slides, I had to move over, but then had a devil of a time leveling my camper. There was dog feces all over and your welcome, we cleaned it up so we didn't step in it. The mosquito's were horrible. ! We sprayed and used a fogger only to find out we were parked next to a slough. The beach area is very small and raised and I suggest using water shoes at all times as there is no sand in the swimming area, but small sharp rocks. There were kayaks and paddles boards scattered all over, it was great you could use them, but seemed very unorganized. The store did not have much in. The check out time is 10:00 am, which most places it is noon. Very hard to get teenagers up and going when on vacation. The price per pet was, I felt, outrageous considering there was no dog park there for them to run at all. Keeping a dog on a leash for 3 days is cruel in my book.(Yes I do understand why you have this policy) I did try to go out very early in the morning and had my dog's leash with and her tone collar on, but she got away from me when I forgot the camper door open and the owner brought her back and instructed me that they are to be on a lease at all times.( Yes that was my fault) After that, I couldn't even enjoy myself, because I was worried my pet would try to get out of the camper again. There is, however, a beautiful county park ( Three Island Park) down the road that is pet friendly and we were able to picnic and swim there with the kids and pets. (Pretty sad when you have to leave a resort to find someplace else to swim.) We also enjoyed some very nice conversation with other pet owners. I have been to many campgrounds, but this was my most expensive, for very little amenities yet. Please note I am sure this is a nice place for some, but not for me. Sorry but we...
Read moreLoved the location! Amazing spot on the lake! Owners on the other hand aren't so great. DO NOT RENT A BOAT FROM THESE GUYS!!! I understand a charge for gasoline but to charge $5.50 and then Mark proceeded to lie about how much he put in??? We pulled the kids tubing for 3 days straight, and ran the boat to 1/4 tank. Simply asked Mark to fill it up, took 7 gallons to full. He claimed it was a 25 gallon tank. 7 gallons wouldn't have filled it all the way up. He filled the boat up to full that night, and the very next morning said he put 7 more gallons of fuel in the boat, when we only went out once fishing just up the shoreline. We had no issue paying the first time but then claiming it took 7 more gallons? Then 2 days later we checked out and his "rules" were he had to make sure the boat was clean and top off the fuel in the boat, so we pay for the gas we used. No big deal! The boat fuel gauge was at 3/4 when he put fuel in. He came back saying it took 5 more gallons of fuel. And added it to the bill. Which wasnt even possible, and still claimed it was a 25 gallon tank. Highly advise not renting a boat! And ontop of that, our family/friends rented another boat, and has the same issue! They took the boat out once, and returned it after 2 days because it wasnt for them. No big deal right? Then Mark charged them 4 gallons of fuel for taking it out once!!! Another thing, cabin 1, and 3 need lots of work! The linoleum flooring in cabin 3 is so rotten water comes up from the floor, and black mold is all around the shower! We understand that its not going to be perfect, but for the prices they have thats absurd! Both Mark and Jenine are very strict on where you can and can't walk also! We were talked to several times because we couldn't walk through the yards to visit with family/friends or get to the fishing dock! And could only stay in the yard of the cabin we rented, but couldn't walk over to fish on the dock. Small but annoying. Amazing location, amazing views, big bummer that the owners wrecked it for us! We...
Read more2014 - Our family just finished our 8th annual week long trip at Eagle Ridge Resort and it was another wonderful time - growing from only 8 adults our first year to 9 adults and 8 children this year. The weather didn't cooperate with us to start the week but it didn't slow our kids down from having a great time. We caught plenty of fish, went on pontoon rides, enjoyed the playground, observed all sorts of wildlife, swam and even got to relax a little because we could let our kids play on their own while always being within eyesight. The owners continue to be very accommodating each year making sure we enjoy our time there. We are excited for next year, especially with the planned renovation of the swimming area.
