Stony Point — Hotel in Bemidji

The campground was what I remembered dozens of years ago. Peaceful and relaxing. Judging from the way the guest host keeps his camp it's no wonder why the showers are absolutely filthy. Down right disgusting. The fish cleaning house was also not very well kept. Very filthy. They had maintenance people come in to mow and pull out overstuffed cans of fish carcasses from the fish house.

Over all I was there for the camping and fishing which was awesome so I was, for the most part able to overlook the disgusting showers and fish cleaning house. I've heard that the showers are getting a makeover so let's see how they are when I get up...

BEAUTIFUL campground but poorly maintained. The grass was horribly long and only mowed around a small section of each camp site. We were told this was per management orders. The showers and bathrooms were closed. We were told that they are completely usable but have still been closed for about a year because they have yet to be inspected. The 3 potra potties they had in their place were overflowing. Literally. And had no hand wash. Lastly, there was no firewood for sale at the campground. We were told we could collect whatever wood we found and use...

Love this place, been doing week trips here for year, camp ground is nice, location superb and the boat launch, parking and marina are amazing. This year there was a down side of locals coming through at night to steal things from boats in the marina which is sad. Everyone in the camp had to pull thier boat at night, cover it, and park it in the camp site. First time we've had this issue.

Otherwise we love this spot, but sadly are looking for a new spot for next year as with having small kids safety...
